TaylorTank1229
New photos giving a look at status on the reconstructed UP-N Ravenswood station. Seems they got train tracker monitors up and running, the inbound entranceway is no longer boarded up, ticket window is set up & I took a video of the inbound platform (but added photos too in case some people can’t view the clip for whatever reason). Looks like they’re just about done, probably a few small things to do and check before officially opening up the platform & then closing up the temporary platform inbound trains have been using for years. Also note; this will officially make Ravenswood fully ADA accessible, instead of just partially with only the outbound platform. Lucky guess that if nothing else too big needs to be done, the new inbound platform & the new ticket agent booth should be open for business before summer 2023. IMG_0769.MOV I thought Metra was getting rid of all the station agents & replacing them with automated ticket dispensers?
Tcmetro
This must be similar to what happened with Grand Central Madison, which has a huge ticket window because it was designed like 20 years ago. Of course now, most people that would use the ticket booth now use the app.

I'm glad thy still have agens. I was at zoTC yesterday. Since I have had problems paying to add value through the Ventra app, I was going to put value on my card at the Ventra machine at OTC then use the app to purchase a Metra ticket. However.the button to add value in the machine wouldn't work so I just went to the ticket agent. Thee was no line and only one agent. But she came in handy. Same goes for the South Shore ticket agent recently.

Only the Lawrence entrance will be open & some of the railings at the Leland end are still just wooden slats, as of last Friday.
Busjack
Seen elsewhere, but Metra announcement that Homewood Station to reopen May 20. However, the elevator won't be available until June 30; ADA passengers should use the Calumet or Flossmoor stations.

renardo870
I vaguely saw a post yesterday on FB that ME 79th/Chatham Station will be completed and reopen for service and ME 87th/Woodruff Station will close for reconstruction by early to mid- December. I wasn't able to copy it to post here and I didn't see any updates on the Metra website...at this time. Have any of you guys heard or seen any information regarding this? Hopefully it will be able to berth a four car consist even if the trains serving it now are only two car consists as those barely fit into these stations. Generally speaking they only open one car to let passengers on and off but it doesn't hurt to have some wiggle room to work with. I'm trying to figure out how an accessible station bot be accessible accordinIg to the press release. The only thing I can come up with is that construction work at Grand Crossing could force some trains to use the outer tracks meaning that trains serving 79th/Chatham would have to bypass the station. Metra would have to have an ADA passenger board or exit either at 57th ir Kensington and use a contractor to transport the passenger to/from one id those stations. Supposedly this will be restricted to weekday middays only when necessary
