Pace June/July 2024 Meeting Wednesday June 26, 2024

10. 11. 12. 13. Issues/Discussions/Reports

A. August 2024 Service Changes.

Not sure of the routes that are involved at this time, but it may involve the restoration of some Plainfield routes 755, 834, 850, 851 & 855 and the schools trippers throughout the system at the very least. But more will come out.

Also from the discussion:

  • 755 was not cut during Covid.
  • These are pilots; like CTA, Board approval will be sought if successful.
  • There are enough drivers to do this.
  • Service will be adjusted based on how ridership develops during the pilot.

330 Nice to increased Saturday service.

Hopefully down the road 330 will have Sunday service and also have Archer/Harlem (Neva) South Terminal extended to ✈️Midway Orange Line🚇🍊  with limited stops. This will make 330 an ✈️O'Hare🔵 to ✈️Midway🟠 connector with transfers with Metra BNSF🚉, MIL-W🚉, NCS🚉, UP-W🚉 and Amtrak🚉 along La Grange and Mannheim and CTA Orange Midway and Blue Rosemont Lines 🚇🚉

331 nice to expand service and have new Sunday service.

I was almost right with the Plainfield route 755 & 850/851/855 Combos. Maybe 834 short trip will resume later.

I always figured 330 could use improvement on its Saturday service. Especially for those living along the Mannheim/LaGrange corridor & works at/need to get to or from O’Hare during the current times Saturday service don’t operate past.
(And plus, if the suggestion for a 330 pilot  extension to Midway Airport is made in the future, it’s should be nonstop between Midway & Harlem/Archer).

Glad 331 is getting Sunday service, now my mom won’t have to uBer to Hines Hospital for work on Sundays. She lives nearby Lawrence & Cumberland and usually brings up how it’s doesn’t makes sense why 331 don’t run on Sundays for people trying to get to certain interest points along the route on that day. Hopefully it’s get an acceptable level of ridership to remain permanent.

Expanding service for both 330 (including Midway) and 331 has been on the Planning Department's drawing boards for at least the last 10-15 years. It came down to (1) funding and (2) operators, but I'm glad it's happening.

I was wondering will the expanded 331 Sunday service will alternate the SB terminals (Brookfield Village Hall or Downtown La Grange) or will the service just end in Brookfield?

I'm noting that even though they are still named 850 North Bolingbrook... and 851 South Bolingbrook... outbound there aren't any 851s. Either there are 850 all Bolingbrook stops or 855 no stops in Bolingbrook.

Inbound there are 851s, but the distinction seems to be that they don't pick up in Plainfield, but still pick up at both S and N PNRs. But I guess inbound, you board the bus that stops.

It’s odd how Pace hasn’t put up any public notice sheets out & around to inform commutes/passengers about the upcoming service changes next week… like for the 330 & 331. No notes on the bus stops, stations or on the buses themselves so far.
