Glennwood Road Ent. Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 (edited) New Thread here Well I did a search and there was no general discussion for Miami-Dade Transit, so I figured I'd start one. Anyway to start this off, apparently The South Dade BRT Corridor will be opened to the public this summer coming in July 2025. https://www.miamitimesonline.com/news/local/upgraded-south-corridor-bus-rapid-transit-service-now-expected-to-roll-in-mid-2025/article_f175e60a-c7b7-11ef-84d1-9fd1248b916e.html And the new 4th bus division in Homestead for 100 EV Artics will be completed next year in 2026. And almost 2 years ago circa April 2023 the day after Some parts of South Florida got flooded from the storms, here's my 2 photos of Miami-Dade Transit Metromover 57 wrapped in Heineken Livery leaving 1st Station on Biscayne Blvd in Downtown Miami on APRIL 14th during my 2 day business trip. At the time of two photos were taken in April 2023, only one unit was refurbished; unsure if the rest of the 26 2008-14 Bombardier Innovia APM 100 fleet were refurbished sometime around 2023. . Wild to see a Flxible with roof a/c components. Never saw that before on a Flxible and I've ridden a ton of them in the past for various transit agencies. Curious, bus numbering, what's the E stand for? I assume from a specific garage? 1 Quote

Looks like same origin as Pace's system, at least for Pace's electric paratransit E22000. E=electric 24=year and from cptdb wiki 5=articulated bus [1 is standard bus] last 2 digits=fleet number. For instance, the wiki lists 19101 as a natural gas 40', E21189 as a Proterra. Quote

Ask Richard Carrera, the junkyard manager at EG for parts for your big rigs etc. That's where I frequented there plenty times for parts for my clients in the Caribbean region. Glennwood Road Ent. Why retire the 15500s? They are still some what reliable than the 22100s. The 22100s, 9101 and 9105 should be the ones that should be retired. The 2014s & 2015s are hitting the 12 year mark very soon, but M-D DTPW & BCT are both dealing with sizeable bus fleet reliability issues & shortages. Getting rid of the 14100s Gilligs 40ft 15100s 40ft Nabis, & 15500s 60ft Nabis hybrids prematurely will only exacerbate the problem before retirement. By next month, the new South Dade BRT Metro Express service will be opened on Sept 29th. 60 NFI XE60s equipped with 4 door configuration. Im going to fly past Miami on my way to California for my vacation. By the way, someone will confirm the fleet numbers sometime this week. The CPTDB Wiki is still outdated at this point. I know the pilot units (235XX units), only comprised of a couple. What is the numbering range for the 245XX units & the 255XX units? And APTAtech conference started yesterday and running through Wednesday in Miami. Quote

It's almost like a light rail concept, even with crossing gates at intersection so the bus doesn't have to stop except at stations. Perhaps if ridership grows enough they may actually build rail Quote

There isn't enough right of way, unless CTA was going to implement my idea of an LRT on S. Michigan unloading directly into the paid area of the 95th station. ,Pulse, with some gussied up bus shelters and a slightly raised platforms, certainly isn't like this. Most of Chicago's experiments on prepay (such as the one Loop Link station) failed. too. And while the NWTC was expanded, nobody built a 6-story parking garage there (only comparable garage is at Cumberland-Blue Line). Quote
