Miami Dade Transit (Florida's Largest Transit Operator)

Well I did a search and there was no general discussion for Miami-Dade Transit, so I figured I'd start one.

Anyway to start this off, apparently  The South Dade BRT Corridor will be opened to the public this summer coming in July 2025.

And the new 4th bus division in Homestead for 100 EV Artics will be completed next year in 2026.

And almost 2 years ago circa April 2023 the day after Some parts of South Florida got flooded from the storms, here's my 2 photos of Miami-Dade Transit Metromover 57 wrapped in Heineken Livery leaving 1st Station on Biscayne Blvd in Downtown Miami on APRIL 14th during my 2 day business trip.  At the time of two photos were taken in April 2023, only one unit was refurbished; unsure if the rest of the 26 2008-14 Bombardier Innovia APM 100 fleet were refurbished sometime around 2023.

Also historic bus 1017 was removed from MDT Central Division and sent to Medley awaiting deposition to go to EG Scrap Yard in Opa-Locka along with retired 2010 Nabis HEVs and Gillig HEVs

Some of the XE60s are being released when the new Transitway BRT Project comes into action. This’ll be later this year around or after the summer time. 

4-door units numbered in E23500s, E24500s and E25500s series. 

 

At the time of this writing as of May 2025, 10 2005-06 Nabis Gen 1 diesel and 2 2010 Nabis HEVs Gen 2 left in revenue service; the other majority of the units were retired and scrapped in Opa-Locka by EG Truck Parts.

Continuing with this one for 100 NFI XE60 delivery update including the new 4th bus division construction in Homestead, 

One of the other new units were delivered from few weeks ago at MDT bus yard; Photo credit belongs to John T. Gamble, used with his permission. 

Painted in CNG livery instead of Metro Express Livery from few months ago; Unit E24542 with 4-door configuration for South Dade BRT with clear frameless Thermoguard windows similar to Broward County Units. Numbers started at #E24539 and up. Part of 60 bus order for South Dade BRT numbered #E23500s, E24500s. 

And #E25518 with 2 door configuration assigned for local use in South Miami Dade with clear frameless Thermoguard windows similar to Broward County Units. Part of 40 bus order numbered in #E25500s. 

And the 4th new bus division will be completed by next year. 

Hope I can get some photos of new units when I go to Miami sometime this year.
