It's temporary until the earliest of the new development being completed or route 210 being canceled.

But the real clue is that bus stop signs are not being posted on the "temporary detour."

Speaking about being right, I previously said this would be handled by alerts.

I finally thought of the real reason for "temporary." If it were "permanent," Pace would have to hold a hearing on the "cut," and the Board would have to approve the permanent change.

Sort of similar to the current service expansions, which are "pilots" until approved by the Board. But from what was said at the June meeting, the 315 is doing exceptionally well.

Thank you for the info. For some reason, I don’t remember there being schedules at the headquarters the last time I visited. Can somebody confirm whether they are there?  

Does anyone know which garage the schedules are located?  Can you just go in and grab some?

To be truthful, I haven't seen a printed schedule in about 15 years. Going back maybe 30 years, there were printed schedules at various malls' information desks for routes serving the mall (i.e. Golf Mill, Orland Square). There was a schedule rack in the lobby at HQ, but someone pointed out that some of the schedules were then out of date.

While Pace apparently has a print shop, the various apps and trackers make a print schedule fairly worthless.

If you are a collector, the situation is similar to when people collected CTA and CSL transfers from about the 1920s to the 1990s--they became obsolete when CTA went to fare cards.

usually there's a couple on the buses for the route the bus is operating or nearby routes

Usually a bus will carry schedules for like 3-4 routes (probably because of interlining). I got every schedule from North except 563, 564 and 572 just from 2 bus rides. 😅

That's interesting.   I didn't remember the last time I saw a Pace schedule on a bus.  Definitely not recently on any bus from South, SW, West, NW,, and nit even North ( Rte  272/574).  I haven't recently been on a Geritage Fox Valley, River, or MV route.

I'll take a pic to show next time. Since you mention SW, West, South and NW I can see less of a reason to have them on those buses with the better frequencies compared to out here. Heck 352 and some others are getting close to cta levels of service and pulse should in theory "be so convenient you shouldn't need a timetable". Also more service means more buses to stock so I'd probably abandon that at some point too 😅. Oddly that might be why I can still find "L" timetables stocked here and there vs not seeing a cta bus timetable in ages.

Thanks everyone!  I was able to confirm that timetables are available at Pace HQ and on some of the buses (at least in the Elgin area where I was riding this morning)
