Danielsmusic
There seems to be a new kind of ad wrap advertizement on Chicago Novas and North Park TMC's for the Jersey Boys. The wrap extends between the front and back axles and from the roofline through the windows to the bottom of the bus. It doesn't look to bad on the Novas, but the TMC's window framing makes it kind of hard to see the advertizement unless you are on a dead 90 degree angle. Right you are. I see Chicago Novas with the Jersey Boys ad when I pick my son up from school at North and Clark. Also, I spotted four different NP TMCs with the ad while I was on Lake Shore Drive. Busjack
Just went by Forest Glen and saw a couple of buses (6155, 6158) with an ad panel for District 9 (the movie) saying "Only humans may ride this bus." I didn't know that CTA was that picky or should be. Also 1231 had the black Jimmy John's wrap and looked especially ominous.
PACE 834
I also have no problem w/ad wrapped busses, but they do look a little tacky when sections of them are missing. Then, they should either be removed if the contract time is about up,or at least replace the missing sections. ;)

BusHunter
1231 got that wrap a few months ago when it was still at Kedzie. They'll have a Meet the Browns wrap if they ever get #1239. Maybe a honey mustard colored bus will be more appetizing. :P

Only if whatever creatures the ad on 6155 bars from riding the bus eat it.:D
BusHunter
I couldn't help but notice this week JC Decaux has ads in the shelters for Miller Genuine Draft beer. A 64 oz. if I recall. (there's one in the Addison/Austin shelter) The beer's all nice and tantalizing. Looking at pictures of old CTA buses I have noticed, they also used to carry cigarette and liquor ads on there sides as well. I wonder when did this practice stop? I don't remember seeing any in the 1980's, but it seems to be on the 1960's era equipment. I also seem to remember stories about opposition to liquor ads on billboards in impoverished communities. There's been alot of opposition to this, which surprises me seeing an ad of this type. The CTA must not have control over what JC Decaux advertizes. The 9600 series of buses had a liquor bottle painted on the left side soon after they arrived (in 1976). I think that the JC Decaux deal with respect to the bus shelters is exclusively with the city. dann
1231 got that wrap a few months ago when it was still at Kedzie. I also saw 1180 with the Jimmy Johns wrap today, on #82 Kimball.
jajuan
I also saw 1180 with the Jimmy Johns wrap today, on #82 Kimball. Nothing new. It got the wrap the same time as 1231 as well as the 1300 NF at NP that has the same wrap. But at least it's a full body wrap as opposed to various pre-1630s NFs at Kedzie that have those annoying mid-body wraps for that Harry Potter exhibit and different CW primetime shows on WGN.
