New New Flyers: 569 (including 20 hybrids)

Old Flxibles: 124

TMCs: 359

So, it looks like there are 481 New Flyers left to be delivered, and 483 old buses to be retired.

Actually, if 569 New Flyers are here, then there are 461 that need to be delivered. 2029 will be the last New Flyer, so 2030 buses - 569 buses = 461 new buses left to be delivered.

Secondly, I know that this question is getting redundant, but it changes over weeks, so does anyone know how many 4400s North Park still has in service?

Thirdly, does anyone know how many of those 5300s and 4400s does 103rd still have in service?

Oh... So that means we're only up to New Flyer #1549 at this point, instead of #1569. I never can tell when someone is including the Hybrids or not, unless they mention the Hybrids in their post.

As rmadison did at the top of this thread.

Pretty soon the TMCs are going to be retired.

Can't wait

harhar~

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, there are still 359 TMCs and it will take a pretty long time to retire all of them. I mean, look what happened with the 5300s, there's still 124 of them, and you can see them everywhere on weekdays, probably the same thing will happen with 4400s.

Not to mention that the Kevin has mentioned that the CTA was retiring out the 5300s before the TMCs. It was supposed to be by years end with the 5300s and yearend 2009 for the TMCs. But of course that's not going to happen totally as planned. Remember what happened when the NABIs and NOVAs were coming in. Even though the CTA managed to get rid of all the old Flyers by 2002, problems with the NABIs caused the need for the Americanas to stick around until the end of April 2004 instead of yearend 2003 as announced. It's December now and we still have 124 5300s left though they're supposed to be gone by the end of the month if they are to keep track with the yearend 2007 retirement announcement. They'll obviously still be here into the beginning of next year, though we can look forward to them being gone long before all the TMCs will. The TMCs probably won't all be gone until 2010 with the CTA's track record of slow retirement of the Americanas a few years ago and the Flxibles now.

Well, anything can happen. It's possible (assuming the doomsday funding situation is resolved) that CTA may look for ways to accelerate the retirement of the TMCs.

Even if not, if the 1000s continue to arrive at the rate of approximately 10 per week, we could have up to bus 1600 by the end of the year (I don't know what the delivery schedule would be like around the holidays). If the delivery of the next two options goes uninterrupted (unlike the gap between 1429 and 1430), you could see the whole fleet delivered by the end of next year. However, some additional retirements may be delayed (once again) with the next phase of three-track (slated for February or March), meaning that the fleet will be slightly increased until that construction is over.

Hopefully the next phase will be similar to the first phase in the sense that the disruption won't be as bad as anticipated. Nevertheless, extra service will be planned just in case it is needed, and then reduced to match the ultimate demand based on the resulting travel patterns.

You're a little off on the numbers, BusExpert32. We are up to, if not past #1599 at this point(seen on #11 a few days back). I have yet to see a #1600, but I think it is safe to assume we have at least up to #1604 or #1605 now.

What??? I made that post on November 29, 2007.... which was 'like'... three months ago... which was the correct numbering back then. Please look over the aspects of each post before quoting it.
