Nabinut
I put together a photo retrospective of Chicago Transit Authority's recent retirees: The 4400 series RTSs, 5300 series Flxibles & 5800 series New Flyers...Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rckLCSWuMYs
Busjack
I think that this heading is disrespectful. I though the reference was going to be to a National Guard unit or something. Buses are just metal.

mikeymc77
Job well done. Very impressed. I've seen videos from other transit agencies on retired buses and this ranks right up there> I dont see anything disrespectful with the heading, it tells you exactly what you are about to observe : Buses. Guest
Nabinut, the thought was admirable, I think it was nice that you wanted to to do a piece remembering the buses that are now retired. But please you have to remember these buses are being retired. This sort of tribute should only be reserved for our fallen who served defending our country in the armed forces as well as police officers and my fellow firefighters. I dont think using the celtic bagpipes music was a good choice for this kind of tribute. I do like the compilation of photographs though because I drove many of the buses in the pics. Ill stop short of calling it disrespectful.
Nabinut
If you think about it, it is appropriate in a way, these buses served the streets of Chicago for almost 19 years (with the exception of the 5800s). The idea behind the video was a combination of that and what is culturally linked with Chicago...the bagpipes. There wasn't any disrespect intended with the title or use of music. Besides this is a transit website so what do you expect from something like this? I even made it where you could tell it was about the buses and nothing else. P.S If this is the kind of reaction i get from something...positive...wait until you see my Nabi tribute video

cta_44499_FG
Good idea !!! I think the video was good, but I also have to agree with the others that perhaps the audio background should of been something else rather than what we use to honor fallen soldiers whom died in battle. Perhaps the best choices would of been "I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan or "In The End" or "What I've Done" by Linkin Park. The latter can sort of resemble what these buses have been put through in their service life if you think about it. Do any of the other members have more appropriate songs? Perhaps you, nabinut, can make revisions if you agree?

sw4400
If I figure out how to do a video tribute for the TMC's Flxible 5300's, and New Flyer 5800's, this would be my song choice... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4rGsovoFf8 Very sad song indeed, and sums up many of our feelings... @nabinut: I'm forced to agree with Busjack to a degree(the tribute is a good idea, but too "human"), and CTA5750 fully... While your tribute is good(don't get me wrong, I like it), the song choice is incorrect and the title "CTA's Fallen Heroes" is also not right. Resubmit the photo clips as "A Tribute to the CTA 4400's, 5300's and 5800's" and change the song... Amazing Grace just doesn't fit this type of tribute... Try the one I recommended above, it's more appropriate, IMO. I'm sure even Busjack would agree on my song choice w/title change of course...

Nabinut
Thanks guys for the song alternatives. I understand your point that it's more along those lines for true heroes, not buses however, the only point i have to make is my song choice was a spur of the moment idea and with youtube busting everyone's chops as of late with songs, it was the best i could think of. Now what's there will stay (it's crazy popular) but i will make a second version with a different song and repost. Thanks for all the comments
Nabinut
Okay guys, here's the Alternative Version just for you...Thanks to CTA 44499 for the suggestion of Linkin Park http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXyemYbbKys

Have you tried a version of the tribute with the song example I submitted? It'll give you that "Amazing Grace Farewell" type feeling without the "Human" feeling to the tribute. mikeymc77
Guys, here's my submission for the NABI video, let me know what you think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTM0fWD0SuM Very well done as usual. Although personally, I think they will be back. At least I hope so. These are nice looking buses. But like most products made in the USA, they are not manufactured very well. And I dont mean just buses, just look at GM, Ford and Chrysler.
