Today the 80 is full of New Flyers. #80 can be flyer heavy. #90 is almost always exclusively Nova even after they reopened the Harlem blue line terminal. #8387 had some good a/c today when I took it on Harlem. But I rode #1133 on the 65 and it was somewhat hot but the air conditioner was on. Quote

I ended up catching #4190, a hot bus with NO air conditioning, on the 6 going northbound due to 7909’s breakdown. There was also another scheduled bus that never appeared putting #4190 as a max-packed articulated bus. Way to go. #8942 broke down on the 6 at Michigan and Roosevelt and was spotted getting repaired with a repair van behind it. #1608 broke down on the 10 on Lake Shore Drive at 42nd - putting over 50 lives at risk in a completely packed, standing room only bus, with vehicles passing by this disabled bus at over 50 mph. That is a very dangerous situation that happens far too often with these older buses. Another thing worth mentioning, this route severely needs articulated buses, especially on summer weekends, to handle the intense load given to this route every day. Kedzie normally doesn’t assign articulated buses to any route on the weekends, which makes absolutely no sense and can sometimes lead to max-packed buses. These old buses aren’t supposed to be forced to carry more than they can handle. Another thing to add, its leader 8944 most likely didn’t have a relief driver and was stopped at Van Buren before heading to Kedzie garage, which is another reason why #1608 had to handle a giant crowd, more than it can handle. I’m hoping a J14 picked up the people, there’s no way they can all fit on #1332 which is the 10 behind 1608. Quote
