A shame I'll never be able to see it again (kinda hard for me to navigate the suburbs). How's it running??? Engine in good shape? I remember seeing and riding #4550 on #11 before the New Flyers started shuffling them around.
Guest
Its good to have her back home again where she belongs, Good job everyone! I remember driving #4550 out of North Park. I have to look at my logs that I kept from my CTA days to see exactly when. But its great to have a CTA RTS back home again. If I can help in any way, please let me know. Amtrak41
How come it says "2202" ? The front bumper look like it was pushed in the middle. What's the story about the GM Fishbowl alongside it ?
chitowndude84
How come it says "2202" ? Ex-Citylink Fleet #
TMC-RTS-08
Great job saving her guys! I rode Citylink 2202 ex-CTA 4550 last October during a visit in Peoria. I have videos of the ride posted on my youtube. I remember the driver told me they only ran two of these CTA buses, while the others were used as parts spares and special events. I am guessing Citylink still has one or two to use, now that #2202 is no longer there. Also, I remember the driver pressed 4550's horn for me during layover and it was weak as the lines had faded out. I'd like to see her again, but I don't know where the CHBM is located. :(

qwantae
YES!!!! My baby #4550 is back home. I wish I can at least see it one day on #151 or #22. But at least it's back around us and Citylink did a very good job taking care of it and bring it back. Last time I rode that bus was around 2007 on #147 Outer Exp and that thing went pretty fast on LSD. But was that bus also went to 74th before? Plus, it's pretty rare for Fleet number was #2202 from CityLink, that serie reminded me of 1969 Budd (CTA's "L" cars) which is still active on Blue Line. CityLink still got some 35 foot 1992 TMCs remaining left as well.
Busjack
... But was that bus also went to 74th before? Probably when 74th first opened, in that 4400s starting around the 4480s and up were moved from NP to 74, when NP got the 5800s. After the rehabs started, the buses were scattered all over the place. After the rehabs started, the buses were scattered all over the place. I know after the 2001-2002 rehabs, North Park got most or all of the 4480+ buses back, as I rode/seen #4484, #4482 on #11 a lot. I don't remember 4481,4483,4485,4486,4487,4488,and 4489 though. Of course toward the end of the TMC's time at NP, I saw more 4500's and some lower 4400's(4400-4459) on #11. The oddest period was the higher numbers NP had for a short time(4600,4710,4741,4762,4822) Never saw any other number in these series, just these five. sw4400
I had it set so only I could view it, but here it is. I apologize for asking you to make the video viewable... I presumed that since it was on YouTube, that it was viewable by the public. It was nice to share, though. Brung back memories of the TMC's that were almost always on #11 back before the New Flyers started to replace them. Thank you for letting me remember the past! Amtrak41
How many of these survived with private individuals and museums ?

Speaking of the upper 4400s originally at NP, 4481-4502 moved from 74th to Kedzie in 1998 after 50 joined 12 and the former 37, which both went accessible in 1996, on Kedzie's newer accessible routes list. I believe 4474-4480 joined them there a short time after that and remained there until at least 2006 when Kedzie's first 1000s really started pouring in and pushing out first the 5300s at Kedzie to Chicago and then 4400s primarily to NP. I was working at Kedzie 1997-99, at the time they recieved the RTS buses again. I remember I was excited to hear the RTS's were coming back to Kedzie. My first one assigned to me was #4485 on the #37 Sedgewick.
RIPTA42
Does this mean all the RTS-08s in Peoria are retired?
