renardo870
While the NABI collect dust and rust, would there be anyway if the NABI could be rebult by NF and return to service like the old PCC streetcars were rebuilt by ST LOUIS car company as the 6000 series railcars? How come NABI hasnt tried to fx them or give CTA money back for defective equipment?
Busjack
This was not really an update, just a series of questions. The problem with the NABIs was that the body structure was cracked. CTA also complained that the EGR engines were all clogged. Maybe you are saying that the seats and maybe the Luminator signs could be salvaged, but that's not much. As to the last question, it was repeatedly reported that NABI sued CTA in Cook County and CTA counterclaimed, so it is sitting in litigation. If you know as a fact that no one from NABI has come up here to try to fix them, then NABI made a mispresentation in its press release, but that was expected 1-1/2 years ago. Start reading about here.

Busjack
ShredderCel1.bmpThe NABI's are, or soon will be off to The Shredder.... I didn't know Darth Vader (or Derth Nader) worked for Sims Metal Management. The litigation angle tends to make me doubt the "are, or soon" assertion. Guest DevalDragon
Where are all of the NABI's? Are they still in storage, or have they been returned to NABI or scrapped?
Busjack
Where are all of the NABI's? Are they still in storage, or have they been returned to NABI or scrapped? The place to look is either at 78th and Perry (the usual dead bus parking space adjoining the 77th barn and South Shops) and behind the 103rd Garage (probably visible from the Stony Island overpass). Personally, I haven't been near either lately. I don't know how recently Google updated its satellite maps, but the ones for 78th and 103rd still show them. If you zoom in all the way, you can see the fleet numbers.

Perry(you'll see 2021 parked in the lower right corner by itself and 1482 and 1176? amongst what look to be some retired Flxibles and/or TMC's. This link provides a view of the last two; 2021 was more obvious, and seen in this view. That would require some forensic detective work, but it looks like the back of 1482 was sliced off at an angle. There also seems to be a large number of New Flyers parked near the South Shops (again zoom and pan).

Perry is the area where the junked/parked equipment are at. And yes, I can see the definitive slice off of 1482 in the aerial view. I wonder what happened, and is that the end of the line for this bus? 2021 and 1176? look ok, but why they are amongst the junked/parked equipment is anyone's guess.
