MCTS: Service Disruptions and Uncertain future

Recommended Posts

Sort of similar to what Rochester NY did. They eliminated transfers, but allowed the purchase of day passes on the bus, cut the fares, and eliminated zone fares. Apparently worked for RGRTA.

Not going to fly here, the budget they proposed was already amended and it looks like County Exceutive Chris Abele isn't going to change anything within his budget for 2013, so riders will have to wait until Late 2013 for the Transit Card and hope by then the discounted fare will be in consideration. But also be prepared for another proposed MCTS System Ride Cut in 2014 if the County doesn't find a dedicated funding source for MCTS & the new MetroEXpress Routes.

Apparently, MCTS is reviving up the launch of Buslines @ RideMCTS.com with a major redesign of the newsletter since December 2000. Stay Tuned for more updates.

Bus Lines is getting a new look that will debut in the upcoming December issue. A little background, this is only the third design that Bus Lines has had since the first issue was published in the summer of 1979. The last redesign the newsletter received was in December of 2000. It will be a new chapter in Milwaukee's transit history!

Well, damn, now I can't be egotistical and brag my face is on every bus!

But seriously, though, I like the new look!

  • 1 month later...

What's different from this year's map vs. last year's?

The only routing change I can think of is the 70th St. branch of route 76 no longer using Adler to run from 68th to 70th. Were there any other routing changes?

Nope & the map reflects that, although an honorable mention of Route 90 on the map would have been greatly appreciated, as it seems it was featured in the Downtown Shelter Maps, it should have been mentioned as a limited service route, but no avail, Route 90 will be unforgettable in 2013 as well
