MetroShadow
I've completely missed the bulletin for this, but nevertheless... vaya con dios, 2400 series trains!
Juniorz
What would be the ideal farewell ceremony? What are looking forward for this grand finale?
chicagopcclcar
Suppose the CTA has some end panels leftover and the decals for stripes and the charcoal window accents, would presenting atleast two or more cars in the original colors do? See Tea Eh
My personal favorite 2400 photo, though it would take me quite a while to dig it up from whatever drive it's stored on, was one I took in the mid 2000s. It was on the Red Line when they were doing an over-the-top reroute, and the train had the Red/White/Blue end caps, coming down into Cermak from the Orange Line connecting track, with the Sears Tower (as it was known back then) in the background. It's still is & always will be Sears Tower to all true Chicagoans. Note that the Chrysler Building is still called that, even though it has had four owners since Walter Chrysler's children sold it after he died in the 1950s. No one would dare to change the name. MTRSP1900-CTA3200
Just a few photos of choice showing these wonderful cars. One of my favorite spotting locations, the south end of Adams & Wabash. Still a fan of that interior.

rvwnsd
Thanks for posting the great pics. Even though they were between 35 and 38 years old, they looked very contemporary. Interesting how CTAs Boeing cars fared better than the LRVs that were built for Boston and SF.
