Tcmetro
It looks like another Pulse study is being started, this time for 95th St from the Red Line to Moraine Valley Community College. It seems that they have already decided upon the station locations from the map provided, so I would imagine that the study is going to be focused on more minute details like the actual placement at the intersections. https://pulse.pacebus.com/index.php/service-lines/95th-street

west towns
how bad are the railroad delays on 95th ? it crosses 5 lines
andrethebusman
Worst is at Stewart with CWI, many trains but usually fast moving. Others usually not a big problem as not too many freights per day and RI commuters clear pretty fast.

The Board simply approved an IGA for Cook County to kick in some money for preliminary environmental and design work, which are necessary to get any construction money. The Halsted Pulse page says "The project is now in the advanced conceptual design and federally-required environmental review phase." The current program has money programmed for 2025 and 2026. There isn't going to be any construction money until it passes environmental review. In life of any project, programmed funds are a commitment. The project appears to be following normal path towards construction as with almost all federally funded projects. Yes environmental work is now going on as step towards construction and implementation. Agencies usually dont 'sit' on money for years until its needed as these funds are allocated to other project sponsors within the given program to those advancing in a paticular stage. Im sure when the time come the construction funds will be available.

Im sure when the time come the construction funds will be available. Obviously, you don't understand the process, which was explained in the video. If any construction funds are allocated, it isn't until 2026. And any commitment to actually pay the money is contingent on meeting all the preliminaries. If the environmental review goes south, for instance, no funds. Similarly, Congress has to appropriate the money. Read 23 CFR 450. CMAP does not appropriate money; it only plans. Under § 450.332, only the first year of the plan is committed. That's not 2026.
Railguy
Whatever. I'll mark the calendar as a reminder to ride Pulse 95th when it opens in 2026.
jajuan
On the Pulse 95th front, there's a virtual public meeting scheduled for November 17th. One thing Pace does mention in the announcement for the meeting is that they received a CMAQ grant to cover final design and construction, making the Pulse 95th Line project fully funded. (I didn't see a separate topic for this line like the Milwaukee and Dempster lines, so I made one to keep from flooding the other topics with off topic discussion).
