T8H5307A
Today cta5555 and I took a ride down to Peoria to try to catch any of the TMC's that went down there and we were successful. There was one out there on the Route 20. Bus 2202 (ex cta 4550). I got some pictures and we followed it along the route and I got some video footage also (which will be posted in the near future). We spoke to the operator and she told us 4 of them are in service and that she was one of the operators that came to Chicago to drive them down to Peoria. We figured we would talk to her so she wouldn't wonder why this car was following her the whole time!

T8H5307A
Eddie, are they running more of them or were these the only ones they were able to field? We only came across the one. The female operator we spoke to said there was a second one out earlier in the day but if was only on a tripper for a couple hours. The rest of the fleet was 30,35, and 40' mix of Gillig Phantoms and low floors, and some 35' RTS's Here are the links to 3 videos of the TMC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eiLraO_Mak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnphclicf1c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83wNgjn46e4

Guest
Eddie, was the sign still reading "22 Clark"?
TMC-RTS-08
Nice work finding these TMCs! I am hoping to see them when I head up to Peoria next month, but I wonder do they run them on weekends? I asked this question when the TMCs were still in Chicago, but I am hoping Peoria has them on weekends. I would be disappointed if I don't see any on a weekend. I remember Citylink bought 10 TMCs, but they just have 4 in use? The other 6 are parts buses?

T8H5307A
Nice catch! Is Peoria using the Clever Devices thing? No. CTA took that and the Orbital Modbile Data Teminal box out also. There is a gaping hole in the sign compartment door where the digital display was mounted inside too.
RIPTA42
I guess CityLink is really attracting choice riders with that kind of appearance. A strip of black electrical tape would be an improvement.
Busjack
I guess CityLink is really attracting choice riders with that kind of appearance. A strip of black electrical tape would be an improvement. The real question is whether Ray LaHood (former Peoria congressman) is sending them stimulus money to replace them. Obviously, all Peoria did was slap some stickers on the exterior.

I'm so glad to see the TMC's are living on for probably a very short time(maybe a year or two at most). Thanks T8H5307A and cta5555 for taking photo and video footage of an ex-CTA TMC RTS still in action.
T8H5307A
In the downtown Transit Terminal, several of the routes come in, unload, and leave twice an hour. Inside the passenger waiting area Citylink has a couple display cases with old transit memorabilia on display, tranfers, rule books, photos, etc. They have a Geroge Krambles photo on display. Maybe you should call Citylink up Busjack and see if they have written permission on file to display one of his photos publicly?
Busjack
If he gave it to them, then they didn't copy it. What's more interesting is the Hazmat bus, apparently in late 70s CTA colors. But I guess putrid green is putrid green.

pudgym29
Eddie, was the sign still reading "22 Clark"? The sticker in the windshield [image 1061] reads "7", so it would not be assigned to that route anyhow. It would probably be on route #79 79th St.

cta_44499_FG
but the sign is destination sign is 122 and that route is not at 77 garage when in speak of the operations of the mysterious Chicago Transit Authority (C.T.A.) never, my friend...say never! Or in this case...not.
Busjack
More likely, the sign was stuck. K didn't have the TMCs in their last days. I have to admit that neither the headsign nor the sticker were obvious until pudgy pointed out the attachment displaying them.
