jesi2282
Its a shame about the historical fleet, I wish CTA would be more like MTA in NY...
sw4400
You mean the one you posted a pic about here? If so, why? Is there a mechanical issue that is too much to repair(like the tranny going out or the engine burning oil because of blown head gaskets)? The bus cosmetically looks great. rvwnsd
I looked up 515 W DeKoven Street on Google Maps, looked at Street View, and found the following (cropped for clarity):
YoungBusLover
Is ex-#6163 still in CFD Possession?
BusHunter
Is ex-#6163 still in CFD Possession? Just passed by the CFD fire academy and they have what looks like an ex cta #5300/#6000 parked in the lot.. Hard to tell the front end was facing Taylor. Maybe that's #6163.

YoungBusLover
Is there any upcoming dates as to when ex-6163 will be available for viewing?
YoungBusLover
Dec 20, I will be driving it between the academy and the lakefront Alrighty then thanks, I'll try to make it up there to get some pictures and hopefully a ride. sw4400
You can come see the bus, but its very unlikely I can get you a ride in it because we will have a special event at the academy. The bus is reserved for a firefighter family group that will be there that day. But youre more than welcomed to take pics of the bus! Pics I can see, but you can't give the public rides in a CFD-owned bus, can you CTA5750? They're liable if something happens while people are on board, and I don't think you want to jeopardize your job giving a busfan a ride, even if it's in an enclosed area like a training area or parking lot. It would be like me going to the Damen Firehouse and asking to go on a ride along with Engine 112 or Truck Co. 21.

That's understandable, I'll take what I can get because just having the opportunity of seeing ex-#6163 will be just enough for me.
