I'll update the rosters in the next few weeks to see if anything will return before the Christmas or so but for anyone wondering the whereabouts of the #1000s a majority listed in red are at SS pending LTH/300 for rust or other miscellaneous defects.  Note I don't have 74th, 77th or 103rd listed as they have non 3rd/4th option #1000s.  4 #1000s were withdrawn from service last week and from the looks of it they are #1427, #1797,#1897 & #1942. I'll doublecheck on #1851 and #1766 may be next in line that will be retired.

Just an update, 730 #1000s have been active since 11/14/24, so 36 #1000s are unaccounted for since pre- 11/14/24. Some are at SS awaiting service while the rest are presumably placed on LTH/300. The 36 in question are listed below.  The 1000's listed in Red are on the chopping block for retirement based off of what I've seen at SS.  #1027 , #1230 & #1526 are active, with broken trackers #1854 was active and was back at SS some two weeks ago believe it or not with a broken tracker.

1643 is already retired?!?! I just saw that bus like two weeks ago that’s crazy how it already quit that quick. What’s up with 1609, is it beyond repair or something?

I just saw 1486 yesterday with a broken tracker. 1854 was NEVER active and was hiding amongst the novas in the boneyard just to clear things up, and most of the time the novas completely blocked it.

has anyone seen 1495 in service?

1491 also has a broken tracker I just saw it yesterday. 74th is not good with keeping up with broken trackers .

Is there any reason why 1790, 1911, 1871, and 1889 are hiding behind FG? 1643 is in this pile too.

what the hell.

Yhe 77th boneyard must be full. But I'm sure 5500 W. Foster is "the end of the road" for them. literally and figuratively.

this address is a apartment building😂

Whatever (maybe Gettysburg), but Foster seems the correct route for a "funeral procession" from NP🥲.

This is the order. One of the buses is in both pictures.

1871, 1889, 1911, 1643

                              1790

i got more info on this…….that area is storage for retired flyers that are awaiting shipment to SS, SS has absolute 0 space for buses so F has the land to hold them while space gets made.

As I surmised.

I expect 103rd and C to start storing retired #1000s as well since they have the capacity for it.

C, probably, but 103 offloaded a chunk of its on NP.

Oh trust me, when the last #6400s were retired in the summer of 2022, 103rd left them all over the facility until they were hauled off to SS.

I guess I misinterpreted "storing" as "stashing their own" as opposed to stashing, say, K's junk.

Of course, why CTA is not calling Scrap Metal Services in a more timely manner is beyond me.

1790 and 1911 were already in the boneyard, so why did they suddenly move up to FG? Did they just tow them up to FG to create more space for other buses?

Probably not enough staff to strip the parts off 🤷
