So with this administration (trump) basically kicking the electric mandate to the curb, is cta /pace still going for the all electric by 2040 or did it open the door for some new diesel busses

And this has to do with 8350-8949, how?

Basically it's the factory serial number with CTA and Prevost Pilot stamped on it. When I head back in after my fallback I'll try to get some clearer photos.

That's the paper that every bus got on the assembly line, LD75 the contract # and the date is when the bus was scheduled for lay down. Usually these are removed prior to shipping, but as it's a pilot bus it may not have gotten removed.

8949 is in Plattsburgh inside the building right now, or was at 4pm. I was working on it today replacing a Clever unit and doing validations on Rosco. 😉

Wait so did 8949 get sent back then?

It hasn't left yet. It won't be leaving until probably tomorrow as far as I know. There are (3) CTA buses left in Plattsburgh.

I'll have to double check tomorrow I was for sure It was #8949 that I saw sitting over on the west side of SS, might have been #8947 then but I'll definitely double check at SS in the morning before I start my run.

I appreciate the confirmation from the facility.

No problem! I just happened to find this forum trying to look up what a bus number was from a previous contract.

I have photos of the last bus as it was going down the line, I tried to get as many as I could. They used to be very strict about photos taken inside the plant but it's become relaxed somewhat since we knew we were closing. I've worked here since 2011 so just under 14yrs by the time I leave.

I appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication to not only fulfilling the order on time but also changing the size of the shield midway through the order not sure if that was CTAs doing or Nova either way I couldn't stand the extended sliding shield piece obscuring my view while operating. 😅 I wish you all nothing but the best in your future endeavors.

The 6400s will always be remembered as the first nova buses for CTA. I wish there were photos of them at the plant from between 1999 and 2002. I believe it is possible to find any but it inquires deep searching. I’m gonna miss the plant in Plattsburgh.

I think those were built in Niskayuna, NY right?

Welcome😎

Thanks! I will definitely miss it, especially working with all the different inspectors as I work in the Customer Presentation Center. I started our doing vinyl on NY buses in 2011, then moved onto Final prepping buses for customer, then from there into electrical validations. I moved into my current location as electrical tester probably around 2014-2015? It's been an adventure!

One of the last CTA with our last NYC bus today. Very surreal for sure, I am glad so many people enjoy the buses!

I have probably hundreds if not thousands of photos from my years there that I will definitely share at some point. I lost my Flickr account due to not using my Yahoo account ugh.

Interesting that NYCTA 5025 (electric) has a 2023 VIN, but is just now heading out.
