trainman8119
I have noticed that many of the 6000 series buses out of Kedzie and Forest Glen that have these new signs only have them on the front destination sign. The side signs are still the sorry worn out green variety.
busfan4022
WOW i seen alot this week. Number 6192 was on route 63 and another on the South Chicago route.
busfan4022
I have noticed that many of the 6000 series buses out of Kedzie and Forest Glen that have these new signs only have them on the front destination sign. The side signs are still the sorry worn out green variety. Mostly all the rehabbed 6000's have only the front destination sign LED, and the rest is the old green. I havent seen ANY with every sign LED. There might be all LED destination signs on a 6000 with the new logo.
Buslover88
Seen a 6000 on #56 Milwaukee with a LED Sign and a New Logo Yesterday.
busfan4022
Was all the destination signs LED?
sw4400
The CTA is only replacing the front destination signs on the 6000's. The side destination signs will remain the stock flip-dot signs installed before delivery. The only buses getting both front and side LED's(although I haven't seen any new ones lately) are the 5800 series New Flyers.
Buslover88
It did not have a Side LED Sign...it had the Flip-Dot

Operator
Yes it looks good and everything, but why only is the front givin the LED treatment? I think it's a little cheap on CTA's part, but anybody who has had to work with their equipment is not surprised by this.
RIPTA42
The front sign is all that matters for long distance visibility, so why waste the money on LED side signs?
