No service on Devon west of Kedzie except the short lived 155A years ago. The sole reason it never went north of Peterson was the C&NW grade crossing a quarter mile north of there at Granville/Pulaski that the streetcar company didn't want to cross. That's been gone for years now. Maybe ever other bus. Your history is wrong. There was the 14 N. Cicero-Devon in the 70s. There was also the predecessor to 211. "The short lived 155A" and 211 indicate there never was any demand. There was the Pace proposal to route 215 to Jefferson Park via Pulaski*Peterson. Several of these bullet points indicate that if anything should be done, it shpuld be done by NITA, with a lot more thought than what you put into it. The 215 extension was for that CTA/Pace North Shore Coordination Plan, right? And it’s been years since the latest change took effect… which I think was the 215 (or partially took effect with buses going down Church Street instead of Golf Road). So I assume that project dead/abandoned at this point?

The biggest elephant in the room seemed to be getting rid of #205 (and reducing 206 to school service that 213 couldn't pick up) which was inefficient compared to rerouting 208/213. Also pace made changes to 421-423 in response to the creation of 205 which added travel times so maybe since that route is gone other things might have taken priority with the pandemic limiting everything 🤷
Busjack
My response to the two above posts is in the NS Coordination Plan topic. My only point here was to reply to @strictures's 53 extension point. Back to that, it was Devon-Cicero, and apparently some other United or Nortran route, but here's the following from the 1973 map at irm-cta.org:
jajuan
Beach services now done as of this morning based on what's reflected on Bus Tracker. No surprise there since CTA has changed the service over the last couple of years at least to end in August instead of Labor Day and the earlier CPS school starts bringing earlier starts to fall pick. The only remaining summer extra services are the 10, the 130 and midnight service end on the 124 since those are explicitly stated to operate until Labor Day weekend. Not very many of the new updated schedules have been posted yet. Most notably no schedule updates are posted for the following: • the beach service routes reflecting the end of the route extensions to the beach • the four new Frequent Network routes, meaning in the case of the 53 and 82 no reference yet to the extensions to their routing • 53A to show it now starts and ends at the Pulaski Orange Line station instead of 31st/Komensky (also Bus Tracker not yet updated to clip the route at the Orange Line) • 93 to show it now has Sunday service again as of this morning

Service would have looped via Austin, 59th, Naragansett from and to 55th.

I think it had something to do with delays but now they're considering trying again and this time adding 62H to the mix. They tried to cut 62H (or whatever number it was) back when the orange opened think but some politician insisted on service to Midway. You might be thinking of Stevenson Express (99, 99M, 162, 164). 62H originally started at Pulaski station, but moved to Midway.
TaylorTank1229
New August schedules are finally on the CTA website! Also I noticed that it seems for #82, the Sunday/Holiday early morning runs that end at Belmont have been removed, with those runs now going all the way to Devon/Kedzie. https://www.transitchicago.com/assets/1/6/bus-tt_82.pdf

I had wondered if that would be the case with CTA stating that becoming part of FBN would bring 60% more service on Sundays/holidays. I suspected that the answer would be yes. The schedule confirms it. Not all the new August schedules are up yet though. The 93 schedule that's posted is still the one from when it was updated in June for the summer system service change. Also the main route page doesn't reference the new Sunday service even though the service alert linked to the route page does. So the only reference to the added Sunday/holiday service is the service alert. The 82's route page isn't updated yet either, but it at least has the new schedule posted in addition to the service alerts reporting its new extension and new FBN status.
