westing
It has been a few weeks since the new car maps have shown up. I just noticed a new feature of these maps. The rubber black bands on either side, used to keep the map from being pried out, have been screwed down with a screw in the center. I'm glad they decided to implement this since as recently as a month ago many cars on the Orange Line had no car maps. It seems people are stealing these maps, as actions have been taken to secure them better. It seems to me car map theft hasn't always been as big a problem. Is this a new wave of theft or is this just as large of a problem as in the past?
chgofan78
Spotted new rail car maps on the Red Line today. The south side Red Line reroute is now only included on the Red/Purple/Yellow individual map now and not on the entire system map. It makes sense so they only have to replace one version of maps on those lines instead of two on the entire system of rail cars when the reroute is done. Which indicates that that map is also temporary, as that detour should last maybe another year, while the permanent and significant change is the Purple line stopping at Wilson (which you didn't note). The system map includes the reroute and the Red Line map doesn't.
Juniorz
The current system and route map cards both reflect the rerouted service and Washington/Wabash. They do not include the recently completed Wilson station for the purple line. The updated route cards might not be included in some rail cars due to an lack of oversight. Most of changes happen during rush hour anyway, so as long as the map is 95% current, the majority of customers and visitors shouldn't become confused. BusHunter
I was noticing just now the brown line cars, in this case #3373-74, still stop at Randolph/Wabash according to the car cards. Also the Addison station on the brown reflects the same. I'm kind of surprised a station wasn't updated.
Pink Jazz
Did they introduce a combined Pink/Green map? I think it would make sense since Pink and Green often borrow each other's cars.
