At The 103rd Garage, 4544 was on route 15

I believe 4544 was transfer to 103rd from 74th garage because I remember riding that bus few times on #63 63rd and #67. Or maybe they switched Kedzie buses from 103rd to 74th. I guess 74th garage wants to be near 90% Flxible fleet.

I think Forest Glen is filling some LSD express runs during three-track operation.

Correct, I even saw Nova LF 68** from Forest Glen on #147, #22.

I think Forest Glen works together with North Park, since they are not to far from each other.

A Forest Glen Opus (didn't get the number) was parked at 43rd & Archer today with the destination sign set to "Not in Service." This is the 2nd time in the past 6 months I've seen an Opus parked at this same location. No clue why.

Those Optimas tend to find their way onto training runs pretty often. Sometimes they can wind all over the city (though exactly why they would wind up at 43rd and Archer, I have no idea).

One could speculate that this is a precursor to Archer getting Optimas. That could happen, perhaps next spring, when I'd say there's a better than 50/50 chance that the U of C service could get moved over (it was supposed to happen last year, but was put off for various reasons). I'm not aware of any plans to move the Optimas this summer.

Assignments as of May 18 were:

103rd: 501-510, 512-516

Forest Glen: 517-532

North Park: 533-543.

500, 511, and 544 are no-shows. Hopefully, that's all we'll be getting of that fleet.

Well, where are #511 (supposely) and #544? I say #511 is supposely not here because I think I saw it before, but then again it could have been #510 or #512. Wasn't #500 the prototype? If it is, where is it? Did they take it back to Kansas?

511 is at 103

4543 was transferred to 103 from 74

B) I saw 6609 today @State/Lake as a #2 Hyde Park Express NB to Navy Pier around 915am. I wasn't sure if it was running for 103rd or 77th, since this is a split route garage. Last time I checked, that bus runs out of Archer. Could anyone check this out for me? Likely it was a 77th run, though.

#2 Hyde Park Express is run out of 103rd Garage, not Archer or 77th.

B) I saw 1364 run 5161 operating on the 136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express this afternoon. I suppose Chicago is still helping out with the 3 track operation. I know that some changes was made in mid-may to reduce the extra service coming out of Chicago and cut out all FG extras. What other routes are being helped by Chicago besides 11 and 22 and I guess 136?

I thought there was no 3-track service at all when they reduced service, but it appears i'm wrong. I don't think Chicago is helping out on #22 Clark, but I know for sure Chicago's helping #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick. What time did you see #1364 on #151 Sheridan? Because I saw the very same bus on #74 Fullerton at 3:26pm this afternoon at Milwaukee heading eastbound.

Chicago Garage has AM extras on routes 22, 135, and 156, and PM extras on the 11 and 22. However, if a problem occurs on another route, supervisors will often take those three-track extras and divert them to cover a gap (such as happened on the 136 on Friday). Nothing is specifically scheduled to operate on the 136, but if a regular run breaks down, the three-track extras are popular candidates to be diverted.

Any Chicago Garage run in the 100 series would be a three-track extra. North Park runs in the 821 through 900 range are three-track extras. North Park's morning extras operate on various routes, including the 11, 135, 147, 148, and 156. PM extras operate on the 147 and 148.

B) Thanks rmad for your explanation on my last two queries regarding the #2 and #136. Does Archer still provide AM extras for the K/NP routes that goes downtown? I believe the routes were 22, 36, 134, 135, 136, 151 and 156. Again, thanks rmad.

Like renardo said, thanks rm. I don't know if Archer is still doing that, as I haven't been to Downtown in a while. I think the routes were #36 Broadway, #134 Stockton/LaSalle Express, #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, #151 Sheridan and #156 LaSalle. Definately #134 because I saw #1008 on that route on March 26.
