Smart decision to bring the binoculars! God, I missed mines. Next time I'm bringing a drone. (just kidding) Here's a few pictures at South Holland #17508 is still there. #6757 #6744 and a bunch of other #6700's #6753, #6742, #6738 I believe were all on the canal side. I couldn't get good shots of them though. I forgot to mention South had a road sign said they were hiring if anyone is interested.

Busjack
Not new (since they have been at R) but somewhat surprising that 6703 and 6704 are on 554.

I hadn't been looking at Elgin until the prior post (and I'm not convinced it isn't 2686). Considering that 554 has always been a troubled route,I'm surprised, but maybe now it is part of the I-90 project.

Fair enough but what's even surprising is seeing a 40-foot bus on #895 (#6546) a couple days ago. The first thought about #554 was ridership. Pace831
554 ridership isn't too bad. I've seen 30 footers with a full load on that route before.

garmon757
So, I take a trip to Schaumburg via #600 to check out the I-90 BOS (very impressive) and decided to check out the Wi-Fi on #6500. The result is pretty solid.

It's depends on your carrier to have a higher upload speed than download speed but it also varies based on your location.

But obviously here you are using Pace's carrier (ITTF radio) if you are on WiFi rather than cell phone data.

Well, when I tested it the service was pinged from Lola Wireless based in Stone Park (West Garage initiated it???).

Makes sense that Pace wouldn't use official radio for this, but it sounds similar to the CTA setup that it has to communicate with Lola's tower. They also mention light pole routers. Maybe the next test is to ride a south suburban bus and see what comes up.

I might do that either on one of the 6380s (877 or 888) or 15500/17500s.

Not that surprising. Buses like #6390 and #6391 also runs on route 554. The bus that departs the NWTC at 4:55pm will be the 40ft bus and the bus that departs after the 4:55pm bus. The one that departs after the 4:55 bus will arrive at the Elgin Transit center at 6:41pm then turns into 550 (yes the 40ft bus) I was surprised when I saw the bus turn into 550 since I mostly take the 6:45pm departure to the Randall road Park-N-Ride.

Pace831
Tuesday I saw a Wheaton Winfield Call-n-ride vehicle on the southbound Tri-state so the next day I tried to find where it went. I didn't find it, but here is what was at South Holland. 6262 and 6322, which were reported back in service on Friday: 14401, with "511 ELWOOD" decals removed: 6723, 6724, and 6727 were getting ready to go out in front: As usual, a bunch of 6700s in the lot. They are now parking some along the side now that some the community vehicles have been moved out. Up to 6759 are here so far:
