Ok then maybe I didn't ride #6515 on the 103 because I think #6515 was assigned to 77th.

It might be possible with all the loaning they used to do. I remember catching a Nova on 95E and 14 as loans.

True, what I DO remember is that I definitely rode a #6500 series on the 103.

You rung a bell about that 6440.... Is that an archer nova that got sent to 74th or 77th cause I kinda remember seeing that back in HS. I know for sure the all the weird signs were out south like 6518, 6515 and 1249 (ironically running Run #1249 on 95E)

6440 was at 77th probably stayed at Archer. Archer had 6500s and 6600s before it closed then they went were sent to 74th, 77th and Chicago

Caught my first option 3 bus on that same route when I was little, it was a high #17XX or 1800-series. During the option 3 and 4 deliveries, the evens were at 103rd while the odds were at North Park during the deliveries. They pretty much had every thing, 1000s, 1200s, 1400s, 1500s, 1600s, 1700s, 1800s and 1900s, a few 1930s were also assigned to 103rd when they first arrived. #1730 thru 1760 went to 74th to which was all 6000s. Chicago and 77th has had the high numbered Allison’s from 1980-2029, mentioned on here as well from 17 years ago if I’m correct.

That means they might have to part out a retired flyer to fix #1405.

At some point (here 19 years old), it isn't worth it. If, as it looks, the engine is toast, the only source of a comparable engine is an option 1 or 2 bus. Along with the "lightweight" bodies, the option 3 and 4 buses have smaller engines ( @sw4400 kept track, but I didn't). There was a debate about cannibalizing, but the only way to part out would be if there is some bus that is wrecked, but not as wrecked in the rear.

Yeah you do have a point. Maybe they might do the same thing with #1405 as they did with #1305. But #1305 had a bad engine fire and it’s pretty much gutted for parts. #1405 actually has potential in getting fixed.
