I say the 60's was reliable just rattled but the 7900's are trash you know how many ive then did front end work on I then did more front end work on those more then the NF most of tge NF I did still had OG tie rods & ball joints where the novas hell only 7 years old my crown vic still rocking a OG tie rod & ball joint 1 on each side & ita a 09 compared to the 14+ novas

Trust me I know the #7900s aren't better than the #6000s but they sure are bouncy as hell like the #6000s.

Yea I admit that but I love how the 6000's did that lean with a sharp turn but yea with gotta deal with these for years to come everything just became weaker now

They're aging like fine wine compared to the #7900s. I consider them the new Flxibles #6000s of the fleet with how much they rattle and shake interior wise. That suspension is bouncy as well with the front overhang being so far out as it is. The elder #1000s remind me of the MANs #4000s or even the #5300s.  Just reliable all around.

Yeah I was thinking of that too, they get bouncy a bit making the ride a bit more fun. In some aspects I’ll say it is better than the ones on the #7900’s.

I miss them days I need to ask to drive 6163 so I can make it lean

The best thing that should’ve been done with, CTA should of had at least 2 or 3 of the #6000’s as part of the heritage fleet with #6472, #8499 and the few other buses part of it. Same thing with the #4400’s, #5300’s & #5800’s, two to three buses could of been used for the heritage for special event purposes. My creative imagination on how things should of went. CPD should of had 2 more #5300’s while CFD had two more #6000’s. Perhaps there should still be a few on 106th.

Well CPD had #5678 and once had one of the #4900's RTSs, I believe that died years prior. I know #5678 was sent back to SS due to a seized engine which remains in the boneyard as of today. CFD also had another #6000 and two #5800's I believe, but sadly those have all died so that leaves #6163 the only one behind.
