Artics were used on 4 and 79 on and off, but didn't work mixed with 40' buses. Quote

Artics were used on 4 and 79 on and off, but didn't work mixed with 40' buses. Whatever showed up on 4 and 79 during the NABI and 4000s were probably extras that didn't get used on the 6 probably similar to them popping up frequently on 52 at K so those weren't officially artic routes. @jajuanalso noted that 148 used the same amount of buses after conversion along with the artic fiasco shooting down implementation of the 2-3 plan you're bringing up. However 79 became exclusively artic Oct. 2013. Using way back machine and archived schedules similarly scheduled periods went from "every 2-3 min...." (prior to conversion) to "every 3-5 min..." so a 2-3 cut wasn't made but a few buses were definitely removed; those slight increases along with the eventual split of roughly 40 to C for 66 and 40 to 77th for 79 look like they tried to go from maybe 45 buses for each with 40fts to and 40 each with artics but the dwell times and failure to account for extra running time as @andrethebusmannoted led to the failure. This just wasn't as extreme as Huberman's plan which turned out to be a cover up for the Nabi fluke. Quote

dailycommuter62 Posted Friday at 06:45 PM Report Posted Friday at 06:45 PM With changing clocks time of the year how do ctas overnight schedules compensate for going back or forward a hour or essentially a 23 or 25 hour day? Quote

Schedules most likely stay the same since daylight savings start at 2am and most routes that run at that time are night owl services meaning only those operators get an extra hour to work. Quote

I figured most schedules would remain the same, but I didn’t realize the overnight operators would need updated run paddles to account for the extra hour. Thanks for explaining that. Quote

Bus1807 Posted Monday at 02:56 PM Report Posted Monday at 02:56 PM #1525 has a really weird block id on the 134. I never see Kedzie buses that have 50 block ids. I usually only see artics with it. Quote

I don't think they use them on weekends anymore Quote
Sam92 Posted Monday at 08:52 PM Report Posted Monday at 08:52 PM Speaking of artics at K is this the first time they stopped running artics on weekends? Or did they originally do this before 12 and 151 became artic routes? Quote

With my apologies to @EasyMoney (I admit I'm not on the inside), the listing is mathematically screwy, because 50 is a NP route, but this is a K bus, as indicated by other blocks on 21 and other K routes. Is that why it never went to the 50 afterwards? Even if it did, kedzie 40 ft new flyers are rare. Quote

You know the (50 damen) is shared by Kedzie and north park with kedzie particularly doing the school runs for damen as well with the 82 is shared by both garages but Np Doing the school runs for the 82 only we never did a regular run on the 82 while I was at north park @Busjack Quote

EasyMoney Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Let me ask y'all A serious Question Y'all think by Nita combining CTA,Pace,Metra Under One Umbrella a good thing? .Thats means cta cant do anything without getting approval from nita first correct ? Or everything goes nita and cta got to listen to them no matter what ? how this works Quote

Based off what's going on so far it looks like NITA is starting with cleaning up messes in the overlapping areas that CTA/ pace couldn't get right in last restructurings and RTA pretty much let happen.
