Kevin
I believe that bus has had an LED for well over a year now. I think it's the only 6000 with an LED sign so far.
Buslover88
I seen a Flxible 6000 with a LED Sign over a year ago maybe back in April or March 2004. It was on the #8 Halsted at Fullerton & Lincoln.

Kevin
It appears that more 6000s are now getting LED signs. Yesterday at Midway I spotted two buses which had them, both of which were from the 74th garage I believe.

RIPTA42
I saw 6234 and 6299 on the 8-Halsted with orange headsigns. Side and rear signs were still green flipdots. I have also seen several 6000s with round LED turn signals.
Kevin
Two photos have been added to the 6000 series gallery.
geneking7320
Last night I think I saw #6321 with an orange LED sign northbound on Wallace avenue on route 44 Wallace-Racine near 29th street.
Busjack
An inference from the CTA procurement site is that they are doing the 74th buses first, and now soliciting bids for the rest of the 6000s. The Kedzie ones seem to need it the most.
Buslover88
I saw #6277 with the LED sign on #9 Ashland.
MetroShadow
The LED signs are proliferating nowadays! I just got into chicago from dekalb, and it seems like the signs are appearing out of nowhere on the 6000's... ...I'm still assuming that 74th is getting the sign changes for now? RIPTA42
I haven't seen any on Kedzie or Forest Glen's 6000s.
Buslover88
I saw #6123 on 152 Addision at Kedzie about an Hour Ago with the new LED Destination Sign...I think that CTA is starting to put LED Destination Signs on the 6000s at Forest Glen. MetroShadow
6139 and 6151 out of forest glen now have them.
RJL6000
And even with those LED destination signs in front, the side and rear signs on the 6000's are still the original flip-dot signs.
cta6085
WHEN WILL THE 103rd 6000's GET THE LED SIGNS?! BECAUSE ALL I SEE IS THOSE BUSES WITH FLIP DOT SIGNS IN THE FRONT,BACK AND SIDE!
Kevin
cta6085, Please do not use all caps. All 6000 series buses should have LED signs by mid this year.
RIPTA42
Interestingly, the re-signed buses I've seen heading eastbound on Foster have had their signs reprogrammed to read "TO RED LINE" instead of "BERWYN RED L." Westbound buses still read "JEFF/BLUE LINE."
busfan4022
WHEN WILL THE 103rd 6000's GET THE LED SIGNS?! BECAUSE ALL I SEE IS THOSE BUSES WITH FLIP DOT SIGNS IN THE FRONT,BACK AND SIDE! 6000's are starting to appear at the 103st garage with new destination signs and logos.#28 has at least 2 of these buses with the new logo. Also I saw a Flxible today with the new destination sign(finally!!). the number was 6263. The interior was different than the others. The normal flxibles(on the interior)has 2 seats on the left side of the bus, and on the right is only 1 seat per row. On the this bus it had 2 seats per row on both sides! Has anyone else noticed this change? im not sure if the bus had the new logo . The route was once again #9.
Busjack
The 6000s have the 2 by 2 seating. The 1 row seating was in the 4400s and 5300s.
Buslover88
Yesterday, I saw #6145 (Or something like that) on #56 Milwaukee with a LED Sign...it was going to State/Washington
cta6085
What Are The 2 6000's From 103rd That Have The New Logo And LED Signs
busfan4022
I remeber seeing one on route 28. I seen the other one on the same route. I didnt see there numbers, so they might be the same one. I assume that Bus Repairman knows about these buses. Since he does work at the 103st garage.
MetroShadow
Kedzie's got them now, but the standard flip-dots are being used on some of those buses too...not yet a full conversion.
