What's left for #4400's TMC's

So far for couple months, I barely see TMCs on the weekends which is not pretty fair to me, but last Sunday, I've spotted #4553 on S. Michigan/ Millenium Park Southbound working #3 King Drive which is the first time in a month I've seen and I was happy. Do any of you bus fans spot any TMC on weekends or maybe on Owl route over night like #151, #22, or #201??

I'm pretty close now... I got 42 4400's. If you can help with the 4500's, please do!!! I want to get closer to Bushunter's grand total of 273 TMC's, and any info anybody can relay on this site would be greatly appreciated!!!

Total now is at..... 305 TMC's. I'm a lot closer, but still a difference of 32 buses between me and Bushunter.

take #4409, #4429, #4599, #4660, #4815 off my active list. They are now scrap. That brings my total to 267. #4441 is still active seen it last night ( forgot the route)

4500, 4537. 4539(engine fire last year; one of the first to go), 4560, 4569, 4590, & 4597.

Recent retirements: 4546, 4598 & 4599.

So that would reduce the inventory of 4500s to 45.

As far as I've been seeing of the 8 Halsted since that time, just about all the AM rush trips on that route have New Flyers as well. Most of my Kedzie TMC sightings have been weekdays on the 12, 82, 127, 143, 145, 148 and 151, though the Kedzie TMC count on 151 has been dropping lately. Almost all my 40 footer sightings on the other Kedzie routes have been New Flyers. For example, 7 Harrison, 124 Navy Pier and 126 Jackson have appeared to be exclusively New Flyer for months now. I still have some TMC sightings on the 18, 38 and 52 weekdays, but those sightings have been decreasing the last couple weeks as Kedzie's Option 3 New Flyer count has been increasing. The TMC sightings I have on those three have been no more than three a day now. For as long as I can remember 134 has been New Flyers and NABIs, while 156 has been exclusively been NABIs except for a rare New Flyer sighting here and there during the PM rush.

This is just speculation, but 4480 may be among the next TMCs that Kedzie sends to the scrap heap given the driver's reaction to its performance this morning when I rode it on the 12 on its way to the Orange Line to then operate as a counterclockwise 127. (It had paper signs on the front windshield and right front window to indicate it would be a 127 the rest of the morning). He had to keep giving several taps to the gas pedal when pulling away from each stop to get it to accelerate at a decent clip, similar to how drivers have to do with a 5300 when one those is acting sluggish. Plus it wasn't in the best condition on the inside. The panel above the rear door was hanging down leaving for the possibility of someone tall such as myself hitting his head on it and risking injury.

Thought you might like to know this. I saw #4617 yesterday on the #29 State. This bus was reported to be retired. It's not. It's lift is not that great though. The operator had a hard time putting the lift back in. I thought maybe he was now disabled because of it, but he got it back together and moved on. Also last week I saw #4760. I'm putting the both of them back on my list.

I just got back from 92/Ewing and found #4403, Im sure the guy sitting across the river is feeling the same pain we are. There was another TMC but I couldnt get close enough to see what number it was. I also found an interesting piece "Sitting" outside the home at 9381 S Ewing ave. and a rear shot of New Flyer #1448 on the 95E route at 92nd South Chicago.

Speaking on how tough it wil be to get a TMC from Kedzie, I happened to luck upon getting 4609 WB on the 12 Roosevelt coming home from work though it had an EB destination sign. Apparently the destination signs on the TMCs were changed because this one had '12 to Museum Camp' displayed. Interesting that this change would come when the TMCs are almost gone. The NFs still display 'MUSEUMS/SOLDIER FIELD'.

I'm glad to hear 4404 is still around, i've rode that bus many times on #22 Clark and its a very good bus to be on. Also, I like the NP group of TMCs the most because they are almost only TMCs i've ever rode.
