jajuan
Since you mentioned it, you diverted me from my work again , but I saw 1580 on 55 and 1582 on 47. Not enough to confirm a trend yet. Maybe those 1500s are what 74th got for the 1750s-1760 that went to NP shortly after the NABIs were sidelined. Remember no one mentioned what 74th got in return for those. wordguy
The swap between 103rd and North Park continues as well. 1533 has now migrated south. (The highest odd-1500 there had been 1529). Odd 1800s are now showing up on 103rd routes, too: 1807, 1823, 1825, and 1849 are among them. North Park routes are showing even-numbered 1700s now (aside from the 1751-1760 group from 74th). It looks as if 1770, 1776, and 1786 have made the journey northward from 103rd. Then there are the 1900s, but I guess that's old news by now. Although I am somewhat happy to see high numbered 1900's and 2000's on the northside since I live in Lincoln Park and will actually have a chance to ride one.... The highest number I know of at NP is 1976 (apparently 1972 isn't the highest as previously thought), which is on the 151 (full Clark/Devon run) this evening. It seems Chicago has buses in the 1980s up through 2005, 2005 having been reported spotted on the
santran
NP has 1980 as of right now and there are more bus transfers happening tonight. The sign up sheet had around 7-8 slots to do work. We will know more in the morning.
qwantae
Please accept my apology for asking this, but this swapping buses is getting very irritating, why are they keep on swapping same model of buses from garage to garage? Whats the difference between them?
cta 5555
Just got home from dong more swaps. I took 1030 and 1005 to 103rd. Took back 2008 with 635 miles on it! and 1982 to chicago.
nflyer22
Looks as if 103rd is receiving low 1800-odds in return. Sooner or later, 77th will probably join the Dance of the Buses, sending more odd 1900s up north in exchange for high odd 1700s(?). If so, there could even be a three-way switch at some point among 77th, 103rd & NP, bringing high even 1700s to 77th. Looks as if 77th sent out 1239 to Chicago instead. dann
All this bus swapping I'm reading about sounds interesting, even if it doesn't make much sense. But even though I live in Logan Square, it seems to me that the south side is being left with fewer buses if places like North Park and Chicago are getting buses transferred from 103rd and 77th. Is this a sign that more new bus shipments are coming, and that they're coming to 77th?
BusHunter
Strange that 103rd would send the #1920's over to Chicago just to send the higher ones to NP. Some of this makes no sense. Also if Chicago were swapping #1000 - #1087 what would they get now? It seems to me there trying to divide the allisons up like their splitting buses over the different options up. So each garage gets a piece of the pie. But I don't know where 103rd fits into that.
tonytavell
I saw 55 & X55 being ran by a 103rd New Flyer (1500 Series)
jacksone44
Today I rode 1976 on the 36, and it was my first time riding a 1930+ NF and I must say I love the new Trannies!
trey824
Yep! 103rd can have them! Cta5555 had 1001 and when we were getting off the Bishop Ford taking the ramp towards 103rd there was a nice sized bump in the road and when he hit it the bus lost power. I looked in the mirror and was wondering where he went... then I saw him off on the side of the ramp. He had to restart the bus! I didn't think that bump was that bad. Oh well it's 103rd's headache now! how the heck did u guys log in junk for the run box and what in sam #@%$ is 31 31st?!
jajuan
how the heck did u guys log in junk for the run box and what in sam #@%$ is 31 31st?! 31 31st was a route that used to operate out of Archer between Michael Reese Hospital and Archer/Ashland along 31st Street up until the BoozAllen cuts of the late 90s. It's supposed to be resurrected sometime soon with extra funding obtained by RTA. This time though it's supposed to operate to Cicero IIRC. cta_44499_FG
how the heck did u guys log in junk for the run box and what in sam #@%$ is 31 31st?! Putting text in the run box is rather simple, its a matter of pressing a key on the luminator keypad under the hood compartment on the Flyers, and scrolling thru the alphabet. Needless to say, the words are limited to four letters. There is a key to manually create something on the destination sign, but that is disabled. The 31 31st to ARCH/ASHLAND is a display that has been in there for the reason already said, TH8 5555 and myself just so happen to know the code! :P

I can't speak for cta_44499_FG, but I'll do it *opens engine door and inspects oil and coolant levels* Why is there coolant where the oil should be and oil where the coolant should be!?! Who's responsible for this!?!
daerah
Its not FAIR!!!...lol...we (Kedzie) should get some 1930+2000 series new flyers!'...we deserve em!! Some of those wretchet 6000s are ....ugh. You'd be lucky if you can get down the street and the parking doesnt pop up on its own. Though, I have to say..the 6000s we got from Forest Glen are quite fast...the ones from 74th...aren't all that good,..only a couple I like. my vote goes to bringing back at least the 7600s and 7700s.... daerah
We at Kedzie have gotten a couple 1200s from 77th. Originally, I remember the highest 1200, we had was up to 1225 Now I've seen 1226. 1232, and 1233 which still have "7" sticker in it. I havent seen 1228, 1229, 1230, and 1231 yet at Kedzie. Plus a while ago, like maybe two months or so, we got a 1600s from 103rd. 1622, 1624, and 1628 were the ones I've seen...I cant recall seeing 1626 at Kedzie. The 1200s you said you haven't seen, I've seen in service on 145/148 and 12. In fact, 1231 is the bus from Kedzie I reported in another post had the red and black total Jimmy Johns ad wrap applied to it. I rode 1229 the same day I spotted 1231 in the ad wrap. Both were on the 12. I believe I saw 1626 once on the 12. I saw it the same day I saw 1226 on the same route at the end of that first week Kedzie got the first set of extra buses from 77th and 103rd those couple months ago. 1228-1232 were reported to be the second set and 1233 apparently came shortly after those four. T8H5307A
Why is there coolant where the oil should be and oil where the coolant should be!?! Who's responsible for this!?! I wouldn't rule that out with some of the maintenance people we have! For example, some fixes for the horn covers that come loose on the New Flyers: Black Electrical Tape, Green Electrical Tape, or 3 Sheet Metal Screws driven into the plastic base of the steering wheel. Then there are the Stop Request cords when they break... 1: Remove it completely, or 2 cut off the bad end of the cable, make it shorter and affix it to one of the other supports! Gotta love their MacGyver fixes/solutions!
