Are the 2600s getting the “2200s treatment” on the Brown Line? On the Brown Line, I have seen multiple trains with 2600s in the middle (cars 3-6) and 3200s at the ends of the train (cars 1-2 and cars 7were -8). This was what was done with 2200s and 2600s on the Blue Line back when the 2200s were still in service. Is this because operators prefer to have 3200s leading trains?

The 2200s were arranged that way because they were not accessible, which has nothing to do with what's happening now.

You got a point cause the front car met you at the ramps on the FP branch BUT ..

LEDs are brighter than curtain lights so maybe ADA reasons but for vision instead of Wheelchairs with the 2200s

This makes sense. A different application of the ADA.

3200’s are retiring?

Read my reply in the 7000s topic. If you had read above, most are getting a life extending rehab at some point.

Are 3200s being currently being pulled from both brown & blue lines for life extending rehabs? I’m noticing a very high occurrence 2600s on both lines.

I saw a full 2600 consist on the Brown Line today at Kimball earlier today. I am currently on the 82 heading back home so I can confirm.

I was referencing the lines being heavily saturated with them like almost every non 7000s consists on the blue line has at least a pair of 2600s on them. Full 8 car consists of 3200s are still rare on the brown line. There are lot of 2600s in active revenue service on both lines for there to be 253 3200s spread across both lines which makes me wonder how many 3200s are at Skokie shops undergoing life extending rehabs? It also seems like Skokie shops has its hands full with every series from 2600s retirements, 3200s life extending rehabs, 5000s quarter life rehabs & 7000s deployments.

Idk if I’m going crazy or something, but I saw 2671-2672 on the Brown Line. Aren’t those retired from the Orange Line?

You might want to look in the 2600 series thread to see what's been retired in that series.   They are sticking around while the 3200s are getting another rehab. The 3200s will be around for another 6 years or so.

Maybe as LeBron is 41, yes, but neither past that.

Like all former L cars, there will be a point when they can't get parts.

It's more as @artthouwill said above.
