And digging deeper, I noticed that there are 15 Orions VIs not showing on Webwatch as of 4pm today at SW.  The following buses are missing:

6073, 6075, 6076, 6080, 6083, 6084, 6085, 6092, 6094, 6096, 6098, 6108, 6109, 6111, 6112.

I'm sure a few of them are spares at the garage now or could come out after 4pm, but otherwise unless these buses were moved somewhere else (or more UPS buses show up after I looked), it is very possible at least 1/2 of these buses may be retired.  And to Jesi's point, if 6157 was moved over there, my guess is that 6155-6161 may be coming as well.

Your probably on the right track, but I would say the amount of Orions missing from SW should equal the amount acquired from NW.

As things have been proved around both CTA and Pace, certainly not necessarily. Only proof is if someone sees a blacked out bus on some lot (SW or South Holland).

6075, 6080, 6083, 6098 are out this morning.

6156 is out on 381. none of the others (6156-61) are out at SW or NW this morning.

So most likely they are trying to rotate the remaining Orions.

And I am also shocked 6114, 6115, and 6119 were all moved to West.  Wonder why they didn't go back to SW?

6119 was never a SW bus (formerly S), but probably doesn't make much difference. I bet these moves are temporary until the CNGs go into service.

I didn't state that right. I meant to say #6115 and #6119 were at West at the time around 2003-04 when #6114 was out there.

Must have been loaners, because W's allocation ended at  6071, SW had 6072-6115, and S had 6116-6144. S lost those when it got the 6162s.

You're right about West's allocation. I seriously didn't know South had some of them. I remembered seeing 6029 at West. So it had to be 6029-6071 before Northwest took 6029-36 around 2005-06.

Yes on the latter.

South got some when Pace advertised that all weekend routes would be accessible. Then they went to NW when South got the 6162s, as I said above. They were needed at NW because 290 was one of the last unacessible routes.

And also were dominated with Orion I's (2272-2378) at the time.

Not sure to what garage you attributed to "dominated."

S originally had 2292-2320, but at that time basically said only 349 and 357 were fully accessible. Most of these were scattered elsewhere when NABIs arrived.

NW had 2350-2377, as well as about half of 2085-2019 (Joliet had the rest).

So far at West: #6041 #6043 #6048 #6051 #6052 #6053 #6054 #6067 #6069 and #6070

You can cross reference that list with the Pace roster. I've been looking for orions all week in a effort to clean up the Pace roster a bit. I have lists under each garage of what i've seen: 17 orions at nw, some at west and sw has all accounted for except 9 orions so far, I think that's 35 buses.  The list will be ongoing for a month when I'll retire/store what's not on it.

Do you have the link to the roster?

Thanks man. #6158 is now at Southwest. Pace Fox Valley Division (Joliet)????? That's Heritage Division. :P

I physically saw #6158 it a few minutes ago on route 379 and get this:  It's wrapped in the blue livery!  So I think it's safe to say 6156-6161 aren't going anywhere anytime soon and we know why they were M.I.A. for so long.

The one with the Pace logo, or some special events one? Sometimes I get the two confused at first glance.

The Pace logo, similar to the 6162 Nabis being wrapped, but at first glance it didn't appear to have the Pace logo sign showing on the rear sides like the Nabis do, probably because of the a/c there.  It literally raced by me so I couldn't get a good look.  I'll definitely get pics the next time I see it if nobody beats me to it.  I'd be willing to bet #6156 probably has the same color scheme.

I'm guessing that NW is keeping some Orion VIs around until the Pulse buses arrive, but otherwise SW becomes the final resting place. Still not clear what they are going to do with SW once the CNGs arrive.

True, but NW seems to slowly be moving the #6100's to SW. There may not be that many around at NW soon at least by the time Pulse gets started and the NW express BOS gets running. An interesting observation by me this week at SW was that they don't seem to use many Eldorko's. Maybe they use most of them on the #895. At NW alot of the older buses work the light routes, maybe there will be an eldorko swap soon, cause long term they probably don't want Orions at NW anymore due to the new projects mentioned above. Interesting if they plan on keeping the  few newest Orions from 2004 (and it's not 12 years yet on those) at SW that may point to them getting the south NABI's. Unfortunately Sw seems to be the dumping ground for now as they can't run old stuff at NW soon and S is going CNG, the only other place they could dump on is North and they have the #6600's, but probably after the CNG's show up both of those garages will be next for Eldorados.
