Given recent updates with 7000s assignments on the blue line reaching the 200 mark and the line currently having approximately 220 3200s in service. Is it accurate to say the 2600s will be off the line by the summer? I’m estimating the number of 3200s on the blue line based off of me frequently riding the brown line. This would be a significant milestone for the blue line after 40 years of 2600s. When the 2600s retirements do come and they do the farewell trains I wonder which lines are going to get picked for the farewell tour.

202 7000’s are on the blue currently, only about 34-36 2600’s remain on the blue, 7201-7202 went into service couple days ago

I’m peeking as well. 2781-82 and 3077-78 were LTH in Rosemont since last year. Those are gone off blue as well.

I'm extremely late, but these forums are delayed enough. There are 3 eight car 2600's sitting ontop of 61st waiting to be salvaged and then scrapped. Only units I know are 2819-20, and 2993-94. All blue line.

From trips on the Blue Line this past weekend, it appeared that each train now consists of only 3200-series or 7000-series cars: i.e., no 2600s mixed in with the 3200s.

Aside from the four historic cars, are any 2600s still in service on the Blue Line?

Should be down to around 22-24 left

Will any remaining Blue Line 2600s that are in good operating condition shift over to the Brown & Orange Lines to retire the older ones as more 7000s come online on the Blue? Or they retire all 2600's and shift the 3200's back to the Brown & Orange Lines to retire the remaining 2600's to make the Blue Line all 7000's?

I think some 2600s will go to the brown and orange but I think it will mainly be a shift back to the 3200s

I don't think 3200s can cover both lines by themselves like the old days since the fleet requirements are too high and brown seems to be a priority as far as 3200s so maybe 7000s knock out all blue line 2600s where they stand, as the 7000s keep coming in 3200s go back to Kimball who in turn sends their 2600s to the orange line THEN whatever 3200s can't fit at Kimball leaving orange with a mixed fleet of 2600s/3200s.
