Erin Mishkin Jr. Posted October 18 Report Posted October 18 #1451 has a 4-speed transmission rather than a 6-speed like most buses. #1346 is also 4-speed transmission Quote

They should originally still have the 6-speed transmission but cut down to 4-speed Quote

Wow I’m just very shocked to find that #1509 had rust issues as it was built on steel frames, thought the steel frames were good enough to prevent that issue compared to the carbon frames 1630-2029 are prone to Quote

Pretty much stayed that way until the rehabs and larger amounts of newer Novas started displacing the NFs Quote
Erin Mishkin Jr. Posted Thursday at 12:22 AM Report Posted Thursday at 12:22 AM At this point I feel like everything that’s left between 1631 and 2019 should be at one garage, like they left all the 6400s at Forest Glen till they retired, despite the retirements have basically slowed down and it’s just the lucky group of buses that didn’t rust as fast are still active - I’m surprised at this point that group even made it this far I was expecting them all to be retired by 2025 when the major retirement spree happened around 2023. They should have been retired by now. The difference with the 6400s was tat the didn't rust, and FG retained mostly 6800s, while if you stick all of what's left of the buses you mentioned at one garage, one part of town will be stuck with buses with no floors. How bad this would be would depend on how many are not retired. Quote

Technically 2021 was when the retirements started to roll in if we wanna count #1870 and some others. Quote

Unless they got more Novas. Quote

I suppose a garage could cope if, for instance, 8 buses failed. Quote

FG holds the most flyers sitting at 145 and they got rid of 1631-1633, 1653 only to get 1720 and 1832 from NP lol, this is the current numbers of 1000’s per garage 103rd: 35 Kedzie: 61 Forest Glen: 145 North Park: 64 74th: 125 77th: 102 Chicago: 102 Quote
