Yeah your probably right. Unless cta does a service cut its stuck with the 6400s because no order/bid has gone out. Pace has that gift of 85 buses showing up plus whatever cuts will stick so it's most likely the end of the nabis very soon. Nfs are taking over at west I'm starting to see more of them than any other west bus. They still have 50 buses to go too.

Every 307 I've seen at BTC has either been a NF or NABI and I've only seen about 2-3 NABIs

The number of NABI buses is already going down with the arrival of the New Flyers, and I got only these 20 so far this week but there could be more that are still active: 6235 6255 6266 6272 6274 6275 6277 6279 6284 6287 6288 6291 6293 6294 6303 6311 6316 6318 6319 6321.

On Pace Bus Tracker I have also "seen"

6224 6281 6299

20430 was also out this morning.

So I wonder what happens after west gets another 20 buses? It will be going into surplus territory. I suppose west could lose a few eldos and the garages they go to like sw or nw could send a few more of the newer eldorkos to start retiring the oldest eldorkos. Do you think some eldos could go to nw and they would be retrofitted for Pulse or do you think they will get Pulse new flyers cause the time is here at least for them to pick up the buses.

6227 has also been out this week.

I do think 6258-6268 will be the last of the Nabis to retire, those buses came from North Shore a couple of years ago and didn't have full daily runs at times so they'll have lower mileage than the rest of the Nabis.  But having said that, the Nabis are 17 years old and some of them look terrible. I'd have to believe there's a sense of urgency to let them go once Pace feels comfortable with the 20400s.

Honestly, there are 2 scenarios that affect all of this:

1. The pandemic has forced a lot of the NW and SW 2700s to shut down as well as the feeder routes because they only have front door entry so that wipes out social distancing with the driver, even with the plastic barricade.

2. It depends on the pending order to replace all of the 2600s period, especially in Aurora, Niles, and all of the feeders.  If they haven't started production yet, Pace might go ahead and move the ones at NW and SW to Aurora or the Naperville feeder buses could be moved if service isn't restored in a timely manner and put a hold on the order.  The Aurora buses 2605-2629 definitely look and sound tired, but there are replacements currently available now that they can plug 30 buses from somewhere else and retire them for now.

SN:  Regarding Pulse, West probably needs to send the El Dorados to NW and retrofit them for Pulse, just to keep consistency.

I also rode 6307 this morning and that wasn't on my list above too. It will sure be sad without these NABI buses but they still run good like this Facebook famous bus did.

Looks like the 2003s (6162-6261) ended last month. I have been checking West routes on the bustracker between 8-8:30am every morning since the beginning of May the last "sightings" were:

6210 5/29; 6224 6/5; 6227 5/28; 6235 6/6; 6255 6/26; 6257 6/24

#6279 is on the #330 and there are 2 more on the #313. #330 had another one but it just pulled in so a sighting of nabis is getting rare.

They are starting to get rare, but there were a handful out this week, which were 6263, 6269, 6270, 6272, 6274, 6276, 6279, 6281, 6288, 6291 (ghost bus), 6292, 6298 (also ghost bus), 6299, 6303, 6304, 6311, 6318, 6319, 6320, and 6321.

6298 spent most of May and June at Pace North in Evanston. It appeared at that location, randomly, on various W routes on Webwatch! So it is back and a ghost bus.

So much for the ex  north shore #6263's being the last bus. They are starting to look old anyway. That's 20 buses you mention. Probably future Ravinia buses. If west does get all 85 buses it will be purging Axess. Where will they go? To nw or north shore guess it depends on who really needs the extra space with corona around. Sw could use some. You know with all the buses getting cut lately like the #241 I'm surprised nw just dont send the eldorkos to the outlying garages. South lost some routes but you cant do anything with their buses cause they are cng. Only thing they could really do is run something else out of south.

The 2003 era at Pace has officially ended, all the remaining 2002/3 models are officially retired, and 6251 still is at Pace property. My friend AJay got this info from a nice bus operator less than an hour ago, so 6210, 6224, 6227, 6235, 6237, 6246, 6255, 6257, 6258, and all the other 2002/3 are off Pace property, and 6251 is the only one remaining on property but it is probably retired.

No NABIs out this morning according to the Bustracker. Looks like they may have all gone this weekend.

Last week only 2 or 3 where out in the mornings. On Friday it was 6269, 6292 and 6321.

On Friday, I heard a fourth NABI doing the 315 in the afternoon, it was a ghost bus and was not on the tracker at all. It could be 6298 because that bus has a ringing effect on its engine and the other one that had the similar effect is 6303 but 6303 could be gone now.
