Bus1807 Posted October 13 Report Posted October 13 #1088 has returned to service on the 49 and 147 today. Quote
Bus1807 Posted October 13 Report Posted October 13 #1612 is currently operating on the 155, its constantly coming to North Park as shown in the photo when it ran on the X49 on 10/8/26 and then returned to FG to do the 152. Now it’s back at North Park on the 155 as stated before. 1 Quote
Bus1517 Posted October 14 Report Posted October 14 1144 was or is on the 50 although this is a kedzie bus its probably unusual to see a non kedzie artic on that route. (Don’t know if its true or not) Quote
Bus1807 Posted October 14 Report Posted October 14 Y’all, I am about to head up to the Western Brown Line to catch #1807 on the 49B. This is completely unnecessary but my username is Bus1807 for a reason lol. 1 Quote

Javi75 Posted October 14 Report Posted October 14 In the front car of the el train can the cab give off a false signal? My brown line train run 418 around 6:15am my train crawled at 10 mph to Belmont. I caught the train at Irving Park & transferred to red at Belmont to get to the Loop. I was in the front car of the train and it was a non stop beep, it’s the beep that tells the operator to slow and stop. The train car was a 2600, was that a train signal defect? Thats an unusual time for trains to go 10 mph unless it’s active track construction or the Forest Park blue line. There were no track crews present at the time. Quote
artthouwill Posted October 14 Report Posted October 14 Lat year i recounted a 7000 series lead car that had a similar issue that kept forcing the operator to stop. Yellow jackets boarded at Jefferson Park toward OHare with the issue until I got off at Rosemont. @garmon757 can explain the issue. Quote
Sam92 Posted October 14 Report Posted October 14 https://dspace.mit.edu/entities/publication/12402763-0edd-4f67-b947-716da2429a17 We've touched on this subject on and off in reference to Purple Line realignments. This paper takes it a bit further in addressing ridership rematches and realignments across the system. The combination of the South side Green with the Douglas branch matches ridershipwise. I'd take that over putting the pink line back in the subway seeing as that means 8 car trains from the O'Hare branch would be running at 5-8 min on a line that makes due with 4 cars 8-10 min 🤔. Alternating North side trains from Howard between the Dan Ryan and Midway takes the excess SB AM trains off of the Dan Ryan without the headache of figuring where a short turned Red Line train or diverted Purple would turn around. The Lake and Ravenswood pairing is interesting but less effective than the Green and pink pairing. 1 Quote

Speaking of Photoshop, here's a challenge if anyone is technically up to it (I'm not). Take an image of a Pace 40' hybrid and use an AI agent to put a CTA Clean Air Hybrid Bus livery on it. Quote

A little too much red and you should have moved the fleet number, but does point out that Gilligs have full-size windows in the rear instead of the stripe angling up. Quote
