MVTArider
ACTUALLY I POSTED THAT I SEEN 1814 RUNNING ON 111PULLMAN. I WAS NOT FAKE, IT WAS 1814. AND NOW I SPOTTED 1820 AND 1826 AS OF AUGUST 25TH, 2008. SO THERE ISN'T ANYTHING "FAKE" ABOUT MY POST. I SAW WHAT I SAW. AND ACCEPT THAT THE BUSES ARE GETTING DELIVERED, NO!ONE HAS TO LIE!!!!!! For what its worth I believe you. The following is just my take on this and is not meant to disagree with anyone or start an argument: As to the fact that at the time of the post there was a gap of roughly 30 buses unconfirmed by C.B.org members I would think in a fleet the size of CTA's it would be possible to have 30 buses unreported. It could be some buses were held back at NF or held at a CTA garage because a batch of parts was bad or something as well. After all, for what I know there isn't anyone here who works at the Crookston plant who reported there not being a gap or something. Again that is just my take on it. I am not an expert on CTA buses or NF deliveries nor am I trying to be I'm staying out of this now. EDIT: BTW any word on the 600's yet? jajuan
Like Buslover88 says everyone just needs to relax. there's no need to get all defensive. If you believe #1814 was around 3 - 6 weeks ahead of time, then that's your right. I stand by my post as truthful. That's why I stated there was no advertizing on the bus. If something was rolling around for 3 - 6 weeks you would think it would accumulate at least one advertizement. Those buses usually get advertizing within the first week of arrival. Some sooner. #1828 was on the #26 yesterday with advertizing already in place. This reminds me of another bus, #1649 that was reported to have arrived way ahead of schedule. After over 800 deliveres NF hasn't delivered anything out of numerical sequence. Why would they start now. Nothing has been delivered out of numerical sequence that you know of. Even if you could say it with 100% certainty doesn't mean it isn't possible. The Nova deliveries should have taught us that lesson. Before being regularly assigned to Archer, buses with numbers of 654x, 655x, 656x, and 657x were popping up at 77th before everthing in the 6400-6499 sequence were all here. That being said, you both believe what you saw regarding 1814 and it's both your right. I'm not going to try to prove one or the other is wrong. Now if we don't want to see arguments or anyone getting defensive, then maybe there shouldn't be comments made like 'I saw the real xxxx on route X.' This isn't said to browbeat anyone one side of the issue or the other. It's just something to think about when we make posts that disagree with someone else's. Why are you all taking things so seriously? Jeez. And maybe you should have said that before all of this started. Personally, I think you all need a day off from this board. Its either that or everyone needs to chil out. If you all need to jump down each other's throats so bad, do it on the PM system and not here. Thank you. BusExpert32
AND ANOTHER THING. 1700-1800 BUS SERIES THAT I SAW SO FAR ON 111 PULLMAN ROUTE IS....1772, 1776, 1778, 1784, 1788, 1791, 1792, 1793, 1794, 1798, 1800, 1804, 1806, 1820, AND 1826. AND THIS IS NOT FAKE BECAUSE MY BROTHER DRIVES FULL-TIME RUN 561 ON 111 PULLMAN AND I LIVE ON THAT ROUTE, SO I SEE EVERY BUS FROM THE VERY 1ST RUN TO THE LAST. I personally doubt that NFs #1791 and #1793 were ever at 103rd. I saw both buses working the Blue Line shuttle earlier this month. But thats just what I believe and no one has to get emotional about it.

jajuan
He said that already. Not exactly. Well, not everyone knew about how the Nova deliveries went. I'm just now finding it out. That said, how could have been a "lesson" taught? The point is anything is possible and patterns don't always hold regardless of the length of time of the pattern. Like its been said before, that was a JOKE. Why are you all taking things so seriously? Jeez. And maybe you should have said that before all of this started. Personally, I think you all need a day off from this board. Its either that or everyone needs to chil out. Considering that I'm NOT AND HAVE NOT BEEN a part of the argument between Dre and Bushunter, what exactly should I have said? They're both mature enough to know how to conduct themselves respectfully without me holding their hands like five year olds. I can only suggest to both how things maybe got a little out of hand which I have already done. My whole point from the very BEGINNING of this for both of them has been respect that one person's observation may not always agree or gel with what another may observe somewhere else at another time. I'm not lashing out at anyone but I do stick by my suggestion that if you don't want to see an argument don't make a comment that may start one. If you didn't mean to offend then just say I wasn't trying to offend or start an argument instead of escalating it by just saying oh don't get too emotional. If I wasn't clear enough in previous posts that I already considered the matter closed, I'm saying it now. I consider it closed from my end of it and my apologies for any misunderstandings on my part.
Busjack
Well, not everyone knew about how the Nova deliveries went. I'm just now finding it out.Well, I can corroborate jajuan's sighting, at least to the extent that when I was downtown Thanksgiving weekend 2000, there were buses in the 6540s on 77th routes. Also basically just 6470s, and 6480s. Then, somewhat later, I was surprised to see a 6530 on Archer. So, his point was that they were not always seen on the street in order, and thus presumably were not delivered in order either. For that matter, Mayor Daley rode on 1002, and some of you said that you hadn't seen 1001 and 1003 until recently. I also remember getting into a discussion with someone that I saw 7504 in the 77th & Perry lot at the same time as 7721, with the same plastic wrap on both. People were saying prove it with a camera, and while I didn't have one then, I got one later, but Windows Vista doesn't recognize that camera, so I threw it away. Hence, I am not going to argue with someone who says he has a direct sighting. I don't have the time to hang out on 111th Street. If someone can prove that they have access to either the New Flyer or CTA computers, or some source of an official delivery list, I will defer to them. But since I got into a flame war with someone who claimed that they had their methods, like I said, I am out of here on that. But I can also say that I saw a Pace MAN with a six digit fleet number in the South Division. Then I woke up. And, for MVTA's benefit, I still wonder why the 24 Marketplace/RIT doesn't take me to my [former] house, but I wake up from that, too.

Funny you mentioned 24 BTW, I was trying to see if I could possibly ride that route last time I was in Rochester. I do remember seeing a Gillig Advantage and possibly an NABI on it though. I could have sworn I saw an MCI/Nova Classic somewhere too EDIT: I'll try to stay on topic now :)

jajuan
Spotted #1830 on the #29 yesterday. So that leaves just under 200 left to be delivered if this one is the highest numbered NF that's been delivered to CTA at the present time. But that just reflects the buses that have been accepted and put in service. There could be several more that have been delivered but not accepted and assigned to garages yet. From other members observations, that's not likely. The buses get delivered directly to their assigned garages. So if there are more here than the 1831 and 1833 that you saw, they are at 103rd (even) or North Park (odd) already but probably not prepped for service yet if they haven't been seen on the road at this point. Also #1829 and #1827 were on the #22. Has anyone noticed recently that NF deliveries have stepped up to about 15 a week. I wonder if this is due to a #600 delay. It always seems that if the buses are hybrid they are always delivered late. The #800 and #900's were late. They should've come with the initial order and didn't. Anonymous Guy reported a while back the delay with the initial Seattle order that were piggybacking. Now were 3 days away from saying it's not August anymore. The way deliveries are going now at the 15 a week pace the #1000's could be completed in as little as 13 weeks. That could be around New Years day. Busjack
I wonder if this is due to a #600 delay.I had commented at the time that I wondered about slide shows indicating that buses on a then unaccepted option (the assignment from Seattle) could be delivered before those on which the options were accepted (1630-2029). Also, the Seattle options were not exercised until a couple of months after the initial presentation (we had to get through Doomsday first). Although disappointed, maybe we are better off that there was no August 2008 Board Presentation. In any event, we don't know how anything was entered into the NF scheduling system. MetroShadow
Okay, this one threw me off. Just getting back from Carbondale, I saw #1831 on route 56 heading Southbound. Now, I'm not sure if this was a borrowed bus or not, but I didn't expect this bus to be on a FG route.

I don't think NP would borrow out a brand new bus except for that reason. Were getting closer to being done at 103rd and NP anyways. I don't think CTA would retire the #5800's in totality until the 1991's are gone officially from all garages. That being said both garages could be down to under 40 left. That would put a cutoff around #1900 or #1910. Then you could send the Fg #6000's to 74th to help retire most of the really worn out ones there. trainman8119
It also could have been a Blue Line Shuttle. Don't think so...there's no work going on this weekend !!!!! Plus, if it was signed as 56, it wouldn't be a shuttle anyway.

Guest
Today around 4pm I headed to downtown along the Kennedy at Armitage I caught up to a New Flyer DF40LF in the SEPTA livery #8169. I wanted to get a pic of it but I had left my camera behind.

Ive said it before, I wouldnt discount FG for some NF deliveries. If there are a couple of NF buses operating out of FG that means they will be getting a batch of buses. Maybe new, maybe not new deliveries but I think they will be getting them.
