andrethebusman Posted April 14 Report Posted April 14 What ever happened to the 54-54B-57-49B planned changes? Forgotten like the North Shore changes of 2020?
Sam92 Posted April 16 Report Posted April 16 1 hour ago, Elkmn said: Ford city is probably on it's way too! Right after they extended the 53 there! I expect the 82 to just always go to devon & kedzie now, but it would be cool if they brought it up to howard & mccormick. Ford city was never the real reason for 53 so that doesn't really hurt it. 53 basically is to provide the frequency that 53A short turns did while also enabling people to continue up Pulaski without transferring. Ford city was just chosen because they didn't want to do Daley for some reason. I wonder what 210 will end up doing?

Yes, and, besides that, CTA has a bus terminal for [currently] 54B and 79, and I assume it has sufficient property rights to keep it there, even if the judge shuts down the mall in the next couple of days (e.g.ABC7).

Don't leave out the 67 67th/69th/71st route

On the other hand, as others have pointed out, the main purpose of the 53 extension was to get to Daley College, and Ford City is the terminal because there is a terminal there. The proposal (I don't know how far along it is) to kill 54B and let Pace handle south Cicero also shows that Ford City is no longer a destination.

Regardless of what happens to Ford City Mall, the terminal will still be owned by CTA to use from my understanding. Solo Cup factory is still used as trips for the 54B and 79 so nothing will change with that. As far as the 67 is concerned you could short turn it at Pulaski again if possible.

Can't remember the details but I think around the 2003 LSD restructuring 30 MAN's from 103rd went to K since Jeffery didn't need all service with the changes to 2,6 28 and 26. Its just wild trying to figure how LaSalle handled so many buses pre-covid in the AM. You had #156 at 2-3 min headways, then 134, 135 and 136 all joining in. Heck inner/marine drive wasn't a joke either
EasyMoney Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 8 hours ago, artthouwill said: My response was based on a post that seemed to reference P possibly doing runs on the expanded 10 based on a shortage of drivers at K. Someone also mentioned that maybe 35 should go back to 77th from K. That'sthe onlyreasonImentionedthat a P/103rd splitcouldbean idea. CTA most likelywillkeepK as the primarygarage forthe10 withthepossibilityofP filling in. . So it’s official a system pick is happening less than a year from the last pick thanks to kedzie not having enough operators for the year round extension of the 10 I’m going back to north park made a mistake leaving there 1

Either that or some work on lunt and skokie is available for rookies 😅😭🤣

I think someone bringing up artics was why NP was thought of but logistically NP, FG and 74th are definitely out of the question and interlining wouldn't help that; reliability would be a dice roll using the blue line to relieve and pulling in and out is both a high waste of fuel along with traffic affecting time performance as well when positioning. Most likely would be either 7, 03 or even C helping or like I mentioned earlier 35 to 77th probably equals a sufficient amount of drivers cleared up. C is pretty much Kedzie 2.0 as far as overload themselves but at least you can relieve via 66

TaylorTank1229 Posted May 20 Author Report Posted May 20 I just noticed in the March pick for 147, there’s no more daily morning runs to Balbo & Michigan. And it looks like the weekend evening rush runs that ended at Devon & Sheridan were also discontinued with all trips going to Howard.

Doesn’t that bunch up buses at Howard & create longer deadheads back downtown?
Sam92 Posted May 20 Report Posted May 20 10 hours ago, Javi75 said: Doesn’t that bunch up buses at Howard & create longer deadheads back downtown? 1: CTA seems to be doing away with short turns all around except for pull-ins/outs. 2: The demand on the northern end is probably worth it with the Red Line having all the construction and delays. Then delays and issue at Howard itself. Some of these probably are going to #22 to offset the deadhead costs

I’m guess the one that originated from Randolph & Michigan, goes out of service and set back towards downtown to repeat as some used to on their Devon runs, or just go back to the garage.

renardo870 Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 Is there any information on adding routes to the Frequency Bus Network on this pick or has that been pushed back to Fall or Winter 26?

Busjack Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 9 hours ago, Elkmn said: 8 might also be waiting for the bridge to reopen. The other question is the short run between Root or Orange Line and Division.. Probably not the ridership south of there. Since you mentioned it, the detour via Wells or Orleans is kind of severe.https://www.transitchicago.com/assets/1/6/bus-tt_8.pdf
