BusHunter
#6507 just passed me on the #77 at cicero so it's back and not retired. #1700 was on the #157 (a #1000's rehab unconfirmed) but now it's gone.

I thought 1700 was always at Kedzie and would be a regular on the 157 which is a Kedzie route.

It reappeared though.

I think Bushunter mentioned it because it was a previously unconfirmed probable rehab since it was reported seen down at South Shops two weeks ago and not because it was an unusual sighting. Busjack
Noted on the home page a story about whether there are bedbugs on the CTA. Even Tammy Chase requires a higher standard of proof than social media. At least we now have it on the record that CTA has bedbug sniffing dogs. Maybe even this one. Of course she's going to deny it just like any other negative story. But with all the homeless on the system I'm surprised someone hasn't caught something on there skin like impetigo or another strep bacteria. I know I have picked up strange dirty smells just sitting on seats. Anyone making direct skin contact though, I would be concerned with like with no pants day. With roaches and mice some of which have crawled on me while riding, I wouldn't be surprised if there was bedbugs.

ChicagoNova
Spotted 4316 northbound on #146. 1 (103rd) 173.
jajuan
One thing we have to remember is any time you go outside your home and into the public, regardless of where it is and among whom, there is always some form of health risk of varying degrees. The question is will folks after having acknowledged that truth and take precautions accordingly where possible, or will they walk around acting surprised that being out among the general public involves some level of health risk to varying degrees? Because if we're going to act surprised that being out in the public comes with even the smallest risk to health may as well not go outside your house and just live inside a hermetically sealed biosphere like in that Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin movie. jajuan
Awww hell no! Let's just hope that's a loaner! If I'm guessing correctly that ChicagoNova was indicating in his post that 4316 was sporting run number 1173 when he spotted it on the 146, then yes it was a loaner. They're probably getting ready for this weekend's Air and Water Show that is going to draw a lot of people to the vicinity of Oak Street, North Avenue and other beach areas near downtown if past years' crowds are any indication. Hell, NP got about 110-120 artics as it is. How many more they need????

I suppose but not to the extent of it being the case if people use transit vehicles as toilets. Remember the prior discussion about some drunk peeing on the Pace bus resulting in the biohazard team coming out.IIRC, you defended that. Some of those shown on the Channel 7 Bears postgame. Picked up the 43XX Hybrid decals, but not the route number. Of course, they need equipment for 128. Busjack
And you're trying to mix apples and oranges. We're talking about the alleged bed bugs on the train, not the folks that pee on the train. No. You made a claim that going out in public was a health risk. While you did qualify it with "to varying degrees," It looks like riding transit is a higher health risk than most, although not quite up to going to Western Africa to get a case of Ebola. The TAs must consider the risks equivalent if they send out the toxic waste corps, or, as Tammy Chase claims, fumigate a car immediately on a report of bedbugs. I guess what we need from her is a complete list of vermin and pathogens that demand that degree of treatment.
