Express Flyer
Do we have a estimate of when all 6000 Novas will be scrapped?
Busjack
5 hours ago, Express Flyer said: Do we have a estimate of when all 6000 Novas will be scrapped? If you meant 6400s or remaining quantity of ~100, the 25 8325s and 5 electrics won't be until the end of the year, the other 15 electrics maybe the end of 2019, and that only adds up to 45, so unless CTA finds some way to utilize the artics more effectively, the 6400s are going to be around until CTA does a solicitation for its next 5 year capital plan. Erin Mishkin Jr.
Add 6746 to your list (I rode it today) and this makes 100.
busfan2847
Yes it should have been 6746 not 6745. 6745 retired in July 2016.
Erin Mishkin Jr.
I'll bring back the discussion about buses being gone for the week. Also 6834's sign is still broken, they might never fix it because it's going to be gone soon. Buses not out between 7/23-7/27/18: 6473, 6671, 6686, 6696, 6780, 6835, 6846. Note: 6834's tracker thing does not work, I rode it this afternoon on the 86.

Yeah Erin I also tracked the #6400s and came up with the same 4 buses not seen since late june/early july. #6671, #6780, #6835, #6846. I guess I'll take them off but I should check and see if they are in the 3rd yard at fg. They probably are. If not there at south shops and there status is OOS. They could be retired but they seem to be pooling parts and resources down at south shops so they could be back. I'm going to take #6847 off for a legal hold. By the time it comes back the #6400s will probably be retired. Could be up to two years or greater if the legal authorities want to see something with the bus that tears it up.
