Not sure if 77th has an aversion to artics as much as an aversion to losing nwe equipment to other garages for their used equipment. Remember 77th ran for years with MAN artics, then NABIs. Remember the artics left only because of the route shifts. 77th ran the 400 even after the Red Line rebuild, but then lost them to NP, which already had th highest numbered 4000s, which is what they swapped. Sometimes someone says enough. They would rather have no artics then having someone hand me downs.

By that theory, 77th now should have ~1220-1329 and 1900s, but if it now does, that is only by coincidence.

Not sure of the aversion to hand me downs theory when it's just about always first on the list for new bus models or close to the top of the list, and when it purged all its 6400s off on Chicago, 74th and Forest Glen a good month before being the first to getting 7900s. That's a move that's never been done in CTA's recent history before getting a new bus model delivered. Model purges usually come after the newer bus model starts coming in on property. artthouwill
I am not sure, but wasn't the migration of the 6 and 29 to 103rd related to balancing runs through each garage? The 8 went to Kedzie among other things. Somehow in that process, K became overcrowded while 77th became roomier.

Don't know what they are doing up at FG..... loaners??? Another equipment move(it would break the block theory though, as FG has 1000-1033)??? 1419(Not Showing), 1421(Not Showing), 1689(#56), 1799(#76)

A block strategy doesn't mean only one block, and I guess you prefer having breakdowns further north while newer buses sit idle 3 miles south. Don't forget that before the 8 went to 77th, it went from being all K to being shared by K and 74th primarily during weekdays and especially during the rush periods. As for the latest NFs at FG that others have been talking about, if they're permanently reassigned from C to FG instead of simply being loans that can only be good for FG because C has been sitting on an excess number of buses even after shedding some NFs to 74th, first to help fill in the gap of approximately 30 left by 74th's last 6400s getting moved or retired and then to boost 74th's numbers for the return of X9 and X49, while FG has been stuck with extra 6400s that should have been retired long before now. RJL6000
Ohmygawd, tomorrow starts yet another round of swapping 1000-series New Flyer buses... ...but this time, the primary garage of focus will be 77th. 103rd is done swapping for now. 77th will be swapping with 74th, Chicago, Kedzie and North Park in the coming week(end)s, with no more than two garages besides 77th involved during any single weekend. I'm assuming 74th is getting 1541-48, and 1560-1576, Kedzie getting the remaining 1600s, Chicago getting the remaining 1900s (1930 and higher), and North Park getting the lower 1900s back in exchange of the remaining 1200s and some 1300s. 77th owe 74th about 20-25 buses. I still don't think 77th will let go of their 1900's. They seriously just got 1929-1931. I think that 77th will keep those. They have lasted this long. Especially 1936,1941,1944,1945,1946,1948,1982,1986,1988,1993. I could be wrong. I just don't know why they would move the busses just to move them back. If the current plan is getting assigned NF standards at garages in some form of contiguous numerical order then, yeah the remaining 1900s at 77th you might be saying bye bye too since it does appear that they want 77th to have the 1200s higher than 1211 and a good chunk of the 1300s if the NF count at 77th is going to still be about 187.per BH's roster count. So from how things are looking to shape up, you'll have to ride a Chicago garage route to get one of those Allison transmission NFs. So from recent change patterns, it looks like 77th might not just be giving up 1500s to 74th, it may be giving 74th 1400s as well. I'm going to say FG might get a few more #1680's oddballs from Chicago, but yeah primarily they are going to be working on 77th and 74th but somewhere chicago and np have to brought into this because they both have #1200's.
