I was out and about when it occured. I don't think my phone can do the alerts like I've been doing them on the computer.

Again, I hope that he or she didn't puke, or he or she will make the CTA Tattler. In the meantime, the Metra MDW line has been down all day. artthouwill
11/3/11 6:33p Red Line Riders: Signifigant Delays due to Police Activity in the area of Garfield. Alternate Service: Consider using the #29 State Street Bus as an alternative 95th St. and Loop-bound. Also use the #55 Garfield Bus for connecting service to the Green Line I was at 35th. They disembarked a Southbound train, and he pulled out, just south of the station. Another SB train rolled in and did the same. Finally, my northbound train came. As we were pulling out, the train on the SB side also went northward, then eventually (around 31st) crossed over in front of us. We were told the activity was taking place around 63rd street. The funny thing was they were providing shuttle bus service from 47th, but the 35th people were left stranded. Again, I hope that he or she didn't puke, or he or she will make the CTA Tattler. In the meantime, the Metra MDW line has been down all day. There was an early morning freight train derailment and fire near Elgin which caused the MD-W service to be down. I was on a GreenLine train where apparently someone puked after drinking too much (on a Friday afternoon?). The car reeked of alcohol, spilled in the middle of the car, and there was sand all over the floor at the rear of the car, I guess to cover up the u know what. I guess CTA Tattler only rides the Red, Purple, and Brown Lines.

I guess CTA Tattler only rides the Red, Purple, and Brown Lines. That's probably the case. Since there seems to be no better place for this story: Mark Grote was telling Rosenbloom on The Score that when he was riding the Red Line very early in the morning (he has the 5 a.m. to 9 a.m shift on weekdays) there was this completely nude man on the train, and other passengers were staring at Grote when he got on to see if he had any reaction, which he claimed he didn't. Then a female security guard came on and escorted the nude man off the train, with no resistance.

sw4400
Do the web people at CTA ever proofread when they post Alerts? I was going over the Alerts for the Blue Line coming up and found the 20-22 have the same noticeable error... Trains in both directions will operate on the same truck between Jefferson Park and Harlem (O’Hare branch), resulting in minor delays

Harlem-bound trains will not stop at this station. Service from 43rd St. Station: Take a 63rd-bound train to 47th and transfer to a Harlem-bound train. I was going over the Alerts for the Blue Line coming up and found the 20-22 have the same noticeable error... Trains in both directions will operate on the same truck between Jefferson Park and Harlem (O'Hare branch), resulting in minor delays No, they probably will. Sort of like 5001-5004 (the previous articulated ones). Wheelies on the Rapid Transit would be interesting. I remember that they had some other expression that made no sense when they were running single track on the Dan Ryan, but I forget what it was, and it was changed about a year ago. Update: I found one: Single track service will be in effect northbound between 63rd and Garfield from 11 p.m. Tuesday, January 3 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, January 4 and again in the same location, during the same hours Wednesday night, January 4 to Thursday, January 5. As far as I know, northbound was always "single track." They must have meant on the northbound track.

Sam92
Not sure of the exact reason (most likely crowd issues) but around 6:30pm shuttle buses replaced Red Line service around Chicago/State.

artthouwill
Saw this on the CTA website concerning single tracking on the Blue Line: Blue Line Trains Operating on the Same Tracks at the Harlem Station All late night Blue Line trains will be routed to operate on the southbound (to Forest Park) tracks at the Harlem station from 11 p.m. Sunday, November 27 until 4 a.m. the following morning, due to track maintenance work. Customers at the Harlem station traveling northbound (to O’Hare) must board and exit trains from the southbound (to Forest Park) side of the platform. Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train. Now my question is, WHICH Harlem station? The one on the Forest Pk Branch or the one on the O'Hare branch? My guess would be the Harlem/Higgins station, but it is not clear.

I did see five upcoming alerts referring to single-tracking between the Cumberland and Jefferson Park stations, where starting tonight, Blue Line service will operate on the northbound (O'Hare-bound) side of the tracks at the Harlem/Higgins station every night for the next five nights. So based on what you are saying, if there is single tracking on the northbound side at Harlem/Higgins next week, then the alert I read would be for the Harlem/Harrison station in Forest Park? Busjack
So based on what you are saying, if there is single tracking on the northbound side at Harlem/Higgins next week, then the alert I read would be for the Harlem/Harrison station in Forest Park? No. The only current alerts are five for Jefferson Park-Cumberland. If the single track is between Jefferson Park and Cumberland (both only NW side stations), the only Harlem station affected is Higgins. The ambiguity seems to be that the Press Release only refers to the Harlem station. However, that doesn't seem to be any different than what is on the Alerts page. If the Press Release referred to the Harlem-Congress Station, there would have to be a separate alert for Forest Park-Oak Park, but there isn't. Of course, CTA gets all wrapped up in its jargon about southbound trains on an eastbound track, as well as not distinguishing several stations with the same name. They should have stayed with Harlem-Higgins instead of just Harlem.
