CTA Bus Garage Rosters

Guess who's back in the boneyard again...You guess it #1245. #1020,#1168 and #1793 have also popped up back there. #1293 is parked in a different location among retired #6400s. #1904 hasn't moved in several months now sitting next to #6873. I wonder what the story behind that bus is. I'm still shocked to also see #6401 still here as well I thought bus would of been hauled off long ago.

6758 had a crash that retired it right I just need to confirm

 

and wonder what kept 6873 from entering service again might not have ran for a long time and they can’t get it running anymore

hope 1245 is back soon ?

Lol, I saw 5 different 4300s down yesterday (granted, most of them belonged to NP), and I'd have mentioned the other 2 if I got their numbers

Yeah NP does have breakdowns as well but they're not as bad to the point where they have to be driven all the way down to SS or towed like 103rd. I remember seeing maybe 3 or 4 of NPs articles awaiting service along the south fence wall along 79th. One that comes to mind is #4373 its been sitting there for almost a month now. #4386 is also another one I remember seeing getting worked on for most of the late summer going into the fall.

Just did the inactive bus list on the DE60LF/LFRs for 103rd. Tell me if I have to change anything 


 

DE60LF:

4047 (11/3), 4097 (12/7), 4108 (12/13), 4118 (11/28), 4172 (untrackable at least), 4174 (7/9) 4175 (N/A) 4176 (N/A), 4184 (N/A), 4185 (N/A), 4187 (9/9), 4189 (12/5), 4193 (11/16), 4194 (12/22), and 4195 (9/29 crash). 
 

DE60LFR:

4304 (12/15), 4306 (9/12), 4307 (11/29), 4309 (11/29), 4312 (N/A), 4328 (N/A), and 4330 (12/10).

Hell Im trying to check the vehicle histories. Looks like 103rd artics tend to get longer blocks on the road compared to NP and K. I still say the fact that all the stimulus artics being assigned there isn't helping the case cause a lot of what we got been ran through by NP, then spent time in 24/7 service on 79th then got down here.

I’m also willing to bet (not entirely serious tho lol) that one little strip of pavement on LSD does something every single time, just chipping away lol. Some drivers still don’t slow down for that part, I know all of them can’t be new

Might be part of it. A friend says sometimes it's safer to eat the bump otherwise you get a million people jumping in front of you And around you. Hell if we're talking bumps then the 6 drivers hitting the speed hump on Stony can't be any better cause they're usually late and hauling the whole route after LSD

103rd has artics from K and then the other ones are the ones 103rd been having……4321-4322, 4324, (4325 stayed at NP) 4328-4332 are ex-NP buses (still waiting on their return to NP hopefully spring 2022) are the ones that been ran thru by NP it took 4331 a while to come back in service only to breakdown the next day on the 6

Yeah NOW they have some K artics but before the pandemic shuffle, you had the jump artics that never moved, then slowly after artics failed at 77th (which were All NP hand me downs by the trade off and instatement of artics on 26). Heck if 103rd actually traded directly to K sooner it might not be as bad since K artics are majority rush only (134, 156, 125)

Well out of all the DE60LFs left in the country CTA seems to be the only one left with 2008-2009 models that are at or even past the 12 year life span for usage. CTA is in a box that they can't get out of for the next 3 - 4 years with these buses and I for one can attest that there time is almost up. 77th operators avoid the ones we have left for night cars on 79th and 87th unless they're forced to take them out, I for one have made it necessary to keep the arctics away from me for night cars. I don't understand the need for these elderly #4000's to be used overnight when we have semi young #7900s with less than 230k miles on them to be used overnight. Hell I usually get #1000s now just avoid getting the #4000s they try to make us pull out.

That bump got fixed to some degree its not so bad as it use to be but its still noticeable.

i think the jump artics were 4080-4100? or was it up to 4105? i know for sure 4080 4081 and 4082 were jump cars
