That's pretty impressive for a fleet that's nearly 6 years old to only have one bus out for major long-term repairs or potential scrap (and it sounds like 1482 will get a gut rehab instead of being pulled for scrap). I'm also a little surprised that only eight Novas have been pulled for long-term repairs or scrap considering some of those buses are nearly 14 years old. In the Nova case, most of them were accidents, such as the driver who impaled the bus on a cantilevered bridge support and died (6832?). One also has to remember (such as in a case when TMC said that 95% of RTSs were on the road in 1989) that a standard transit bus has a 12 year FTA life. NABIs may not make it (like the CTA buses that were retired within 6 years), but the normal course for a TA (such as Pace) is to leave the wreck on its grounds and just say it is "a long term hold" before advertising it for scrap after the 12 years are over. You cant really compare those two because Septa had new buses coming in and decided to use them to replace the last Neoplan 440's they had and the oldest Nabi's.It was a matter of choice not have to do it... Just two very minor corrections/glitches: 1590-91 were double-counted, at both 74th & Kedzie 4113 is assigned to North Park. (I don't know whether or not it migrated to 103rd and then returned). More precisely it comes down to how many artics stay at 77th as 103rd shouldn't need 90 artics at that point even if things go back to artics serving half the trips on the 26.
