You have got to be kidding!! That's a niles free bus!! A MCI on there. That's worth photographing. Lol!!

I am amazed too ! I am hoping it's an error. Seems a little too much, especially for Niles fleet maintenance and a pain for wheelchair service.

Indeed you're correct but it went to Northwest after the Eldorados arrive. I remember seeing it on #600 and #606 at Rosemont.

600, 606 are shared between Northwest and River. NABIs have never worked from Northwest.

According to Pace website, 600 and 606 are owned by Northwest. However, I have to say that you're right about the NABI's because I was looking at the TransitMaster Bus Tracker and #6648 looks like it's heading to Elgin. Why did they have some of the NABI's depart from Elgin just to serve 600 and 606 if these routes not owned by River?

You have to look at the schedules, as the search function does not show multiple garages. It looks like the arrangement of the route pages has changed, but at the bottom there is a link for the Full Schedule Front. In the cases of 600, 606, 610, and 616, the "Carrier Information" has both Pace Northwest and Pace River.

For the history of how this happened, go back to the thread on Academy operations. Essentially, Academy defaulted on its contract, and Pace had to scramble to take it over.

BTW, if you use the Route Finder, and pull down "Carrier/Division" and "Pace River Division," these routes turn up (result).

Also, the same thing happened when, as a result of the North Shore restructuring, 210, 422, and 423 were split between Northwest and North Shore.

I appreciate the info. You really came in handy with information when needed.

It was at South for some time last year during the arrival of the new Eldorado Axxess busses.

That's correct; approx. the first 15 and last 5 went to South. Don't hold me to exact numbers.

I think so far #6268-78, #6280-85, #6303, and #6317-21 at South. #6279, #6286-6302, and #6304-16 at West. There has been a decline with the 35-foot NABI's at West. So far I know that #6604 (From North???), #6605, #6609, #6612, #6618, #6650, #6651, and #6673 are still there. Former Heritage Garage's #6247-49 and #6252 are at West while #6250 and #6254 are at South. I don't know what happened to #6251, #6253, #6255, and #6256.

Those are all at North Shore, and went there before the Axess shifts.

I had a feeling that they would be over there in which that makes sense because of the fact that North Shore also have #6257-61 (White) and #6262-67 (Blue).

Also 6322 (blue NABI)--always had it.

I believe that the ones you previously listed were part of a shift when Joliet got the 2742s, and their buses were split between NS and Academy. 6257-61 were part of a swap between NS and Joliet when Joliet got some of NS's 35 foot buses.

NS also received 6238-40, which appears to have been a direct shift from W.

It was a mix of 35-foot (Mid/High 6660s-6675) and 40-foot NABI's (6247-6256 or 6261) at Joliet when I first went out there in 2008 before the Eldorados came. You're correct indeed about the swaps but how did 6322 became a lone duck at North Shore? I thought it belonged to West but never existed out there.

Joliet first had 6249-6261 and approx. 6665-6676 (approx. 2004). Apparently too many 40 foot buses (they were a direct swap for some in the 2090s and 2100s), so some were swapped with NS 6624-28, 6680, 6681, which weren't original to NS, either (Aurora, Elgin, or Highland Park). 6676 didn't stay in Joliet long, and went to Aurora and then Westmont (when Westmont got a chunk of Aurora's buses).

Like I said (from personal observation) 6322 was always at North Shore. In fact, the Pace Newsletter threw a curve ball back in 2005 when it said that the first blue NABIs were going to west, but I soon thereafter saw 6265 on route 635.

Oh wow. So you're telling me that West should've had the blue NABI's first starting at 6262 not 6268?

No, I'm saying that the newsletter was full of beans.
