I ran into Melinda Metzger today at Jefferson Park.   She was showing off 25541 to what seemed like some photographers.  Maybe it was some promos.  We talked about the past, but I forgot to ask her about the future and what we should be expecting.

As for the bus, the only disappointment besides the full Pulse wrap is the hopper windows.  I think 20700 is better looking.  I think the bigger windows make the CTA Novas look better.

so now out of NW we have 25538 25540-25545, 25535-37 and 25539 yet to enter service

Actually, you got 25535-37 wrong. They are the 35-foot buses already operating out of Heritage.

You meant the buses that have not yet entered service are 25546-25547.

I thought I saw 25546 on service along with 25540 on Pulse Milwaukee yesterday.

25539 entered service on 7/8. There are photographs above. It did not track until today.

I assume the 25540s out of NW will only operate on the milwaukee pulse? NW is really funny about fleet management though so i half-expect a 40 foot gillig trundling down canfield on the 209!

From pictures, all 10 are wrapped for Pulse, but Milwaukee only needs 4 buses. or so Dempster needs something like 12, so in time some of the hybrids should turn up there. I suppose that the regular wrapped buses in the about 6564-6575 range will be unwrapped (and probably go to W).

Apparently NW is still going through trainings on the Gilligs.  They only have 10 of these buses.  Wednesday there were 2 in revenue service on Pulse Milwaukee  abd Melinda Metzger had a third bus.  I don't know how many they use for training.   I didn't spot any Gilligs on Pulse Dempster.  I spoke with one 1⃣ driver who Said she hadn't been trained on the new buses yet.

there's a really stupidly low bridge in downtown evanston that i think the gilligs can't clear

gonna guess it's this guy going west on davis!  theoretically they could route it up emerson somehow, maybe something like the 93 routing? otherwise they just have 6 gilligs sitting around doing nothing lol

I posted on that before. The overpasses are 11'9", I don't see a specification for a current Gillig hybrid, but usually they are 11'1".

Northwesten runs the identical model in Evanston and doesn't seem to have issues.

Transit buses don't have any problems clearing  them.  The taller OTR coaches would.  The MCI J4500s, Prevost H3 -45s, the VanHool TX models, the Volvo 9700s, and the Setea buses would definitely not clear it as those are 12 ft tall.

Update: The Northwestern Campus Loop uses Emerson and Elgin, which are 13'11" and 14'3". Evanston Truck Map (with clearances).

Which is totally irrelevant, since Pace (nor Northwestern or CTA) runs motor coaches there. And, somehow, I've seen motor coaches on University Place.

If you want to sweat something, what when CTA gets 150 of the No/Low hybrids, or both agencies get BEBs, which have about the same battery packs? But CTA has been getting hybrids under the L and railroad underpasses for about 14 years. As I noted, only Pace problems with CNGs and hybrids were on 348 and 472, and those only required small reroutes.

still has messed up signage??😂 they tryna be CTA so bad

Pace has had its share of sign mess-ups going back (as far as I know) to 2006, but most (and this one) seem to be failing to sync the Transitmaster with the sign controller, although it is hard to see how 1003 became an obsolete 9071.
