@BusHunter, does this make 99.99% confirmation that 8200-8324 are going to FG when they start rolling from South Shops to their assigned garage, or is this still speculation based on what has been moved where? I am excited about the prospect of brand new buses at FG, but don't want my hopes dashed if this is a false pretense.....

They should be going to FG, but there still is that .01 percent chance that they are going elsewhere. Somehow I get the feeling this year is going to be a slow grind on deliveries because Novabus is working on the NY contract. The speed of the #8178's deliveries will most likely be the speed of the #8200's. How long has that took? 3 months for 22 buses? So they might be lucky to do 25-30 new buses a quarter. 

If you look at that roster, I had 24 or 26 buses that were not having updated clever devices and since weds those last 4 haven't shown up and #6622 was in service quite a bit. I think that one was a little stronger out of the #6600's due to it's slightly lower miles. But if they are gone it's not because of the miles, it's because of the clever device.

And 1300s and 1400s. I don't think 77th getting the remaining 1200s justifies anything if they don't get any remaining lower 1300s at the least.

That's because every bus isn't safe. That's like sending Chicago's 2000s to 77th (I'll be damned if that really happened). You skipped 1952, 1954, and 1968 by the way. 

If CTA trying to make stable blocks for each garage then 77th has to forfeit all the  remaining 1900s.

I mentioned that to him yesterday when I told him it's a possibility those Allison 1900s at 77th now that he likes so much might end up at Chicago garage.

The chicago nf buses that FG got this week were all over jeff pk today. Unfortunately they still had the "C" sticker on them. Now if someone could point me in the direction of the "F" stickers maybe I could have put some on while no one was looking!!

It's something I have to work to accept lol. Those are my favorites. But at least their not being retired lol 

Between their recent rehab and the length of time to get to first deliveries of new buses after initiating bids, not for a few more years. Not to mention CTA bus models seem to stick around at least three to four years after making retirement age.

They finally opened the Harrison Bridge by the Jane Byrne Interchange along with Harrison/Des Planes Terminal.

CTA states on its web site though that it won't be until Thursday that the 7 and 60 go back to their normal routing on Harrison between Morgan and Canal/Clinton, ending their several year long detours.

I don't think any more NF transfers will occur until 8200 and a few others start getting activated and sent to wherever they will be assigned..... I'm hesitant to say FG because then I'll see a post on here that says....

"8201 was just seen on #29 with 8200 as it's follower"

..... and there goes all my hope that brand new buses will be at FG and I'll be able to ride them when they start showing up on #80 or #152.

Well if you ever have a need to ride the 9 again anytime soon, you can ride Smart buses galore for the next several weeks at least with that being the only model used on that route until NF assignments settle back down long enough for 74th to begin installing TSP equipment on NFs.

There you go sw4400, if your looking for a smoking gun, there it is. Now we can confidently say that it's 99.9 percent a done deal. That sounds like the trainer bus. We might even see it in service on a tripper or something, so keep your eyes peeled to the bustracker. It's still probably Chicago's bus though.

I remember when the #5400's flx's first came to FG, they showcased #5499 at jeff pk right outside the supervisor's booth. That was like the first arrival of that series. I don't know if possibly they wanted operators to try that out there because that terminal has tons of operators go through it and it has a supervisor too, but it seems if they station a bus there it goes out on a feeder like #85A or #81W. They had #1329 over there on the weekend and that's what it did. Among the first routes to see new buses are usually #85 or #81 but I do remember seeing one early on the #77. Usually though a brand new bus might sit there and not really go into service. At least that's what I've experienced.

Well, now it's only a matter of time before the newer buses start to arrive at South Shops(only 8200 is there currently), go through inspections and installation of equipment via CTA and Prevost personnel, and get shipped to FG to begin assignments.

We might see #8200 by 5/1 or the end of next week. It could serve as an additional trainer this way they could have one at the garage and one in service. I don't know if everyone would require training but my experience on the street talking to operators out of 74th said that they were seeing the bus for the first time when I was on the #62 with them. So maybe they wouldn't, but probably the bus is there if you want to try it out at the garage it's encouraged. They also have to get the mechanics and garage personnel familiar with the bus too. But many operators first drive will probably be when they get one to drive in service.

I adjusted the roster to reflect the training bus #8199. Remember when Andre said #8199 was put on the assignment list. Well he didn't say where!!

I believe #8199 is still going to be assigned to Chicago, since this morning I saw the C sticker on the windshield. It's more then likely being loaned to FG.

It's more likely just a loaner from Chicago. They are down a bus since 8194 is out with an engine fire, and no announced timetable for return. That and 8090 from 74th(accident). Maybe 00-Garmon can do some spying to unearth some dirt about these two and if a timetable has been established as to when Chicago and 74th will have a complete roster of 100 buses again.
