NP should get those. North Park has alot of #1300's that need to go south, but it seems alot of those are 77th destined. Could be a 3 way swap cause you guys are in need of the #1473's and those are at 77th.

I think NP has some 1400s so maybe those might end up at 74th? Kedzie's  1400s went to 74th so that's what I'm thinking.

And I think you guys are due to get back the 1500s from 77th so BH has a point in there being a possible 3-way swap.

One thing we're going to learn today is

were the #1799's a fluke going to chicago? That's the only unexplained transfer so far. You guys will be surprised if chicago gets the #1750's. That would mean the #1900's will probably go to np after all.

It's still early, but four known buses have switched garages:

#1344 and #1363 went from Chicago to 77th.

#1418 went from Chicago to 74th.

#1754 went from 74th to Chicago (this is the start of 74th sending its #1750s to Chicago in exchange for Chicago's #1410s).

More to be seen later...

 

P.S. By the way, when the "swapocalypse" is finally finished, all of the Allison transmission-equipped 1000s (1930-2029) will end up at North Park, just like all of the clean-diesel 4300s (4334-4399) ended up at that garage.

In addition, three garages will have buses numbered on both sides of the following transition points:

AMSECO 6468 seats to AMSECO InSight seats: 77th (although AMSECO InSight seats are found in selected buses assigned to Forest Glen and 103rd)

Cummins ISM engine to Cummins ISL engine: Kedzie

ZF EcoMat transmission to Allison B400 transmission: North Park

Wow, didn't see that coming. It'll be strange seeing 2000s on Clark or Broadway, and I'll miss them on the #74. But I guess the CTA doesn't want to see the new Novas and the 1900s/2000s at the same garage. And I can live with a scenario of 1739-1870 ending up at C, as long as the new Novas are there too.

Got #1754 #1756 #1758 and #1759 at Chicago while #1417 and #1420 made their way to 74th. Having 1930-2029 at North Park is just straight bs because how does that move jusitfies anything? As far as the higher 1700s infiltrating Chicago, that means 74th also forfeits 1784-1797, North Park forfeits 1761-1783, and Kedize forfeits 1798.

#1753 and #1760 also made the trip to Chicago Garage. Thus, I can safely assume that #1755 and #1757 are also at Chicago, while #1414-#1416, #1419 and #1421 are also now at 74th (I mentioned #1418 in my previous post). #1422 is still at Chicago for the moment.

In addition to #1344 and #1363, 77th now got ex-Chicago buses #1264, #1311, #1312, #1329 and #1341 (and possibly a few more).

Yeah, it is kind of lame as the #22's and #151's run artics, so what do they need longitudinal seat #1900's for? the #93, but it will be nice seeing these occasionally for the ball game extras. This will be the first time Chicago don't have any. The hikers are going to be busy as np only has 4 of those 100 buses. Damn, they really are going to be transferring their butts off. xD

They only had 5 before this bold move (#1947 #1961 #1965 #1997 and #1998). Let's see how this phase out on the north side.

Basically what they're saying to my side of town is get ready to be packed in like sardines and have folks' crotches and rear ends in our faces when on the bus just like we do on the trains riding the Red and Purple Lines.

Well let's see there's the 22 in late AM rush through early PM rush and the owl periods, 36, 49/X49, 49B, 50,  PM 135 and 136, and AM 148. :P9_9

To be precise, only #1753-#1760 made the trip to Chicago. #1750-#1752 are still at 74th.

As for #1249 that didn't make the trip from Chicago to 77th last week, it was on the South Side this morning although it may have been loaned by 77th to 103rd because it was on the #6.

And both #1258 and #1259 are now at 77th. I forgot to mention that.

You can probably chalk up #1249 then at 77th. #1258-59 were last weeks transfers. I'm still looking for #1377 though.

Well actually it does since the more recent moves of late have been geared toward sending the 1200s, 1219 and higher, along with the eventual transfer of a bulk of the 1300s to 77th, especially if you look at the added fact that 74th has already traded its 1300s down to 77th. So it wasn't looking good for CTA wanting 1300s to remain at Kedzie or NP. NP has already transferring what 1330s and 1340s that it has left to 77th. The 1310s and 1320s that it has were already likely set for eventual transfer to 77th as well along with those few 1260s and 1270s it still has. Kedzie still having any 1300s at all at this point is actually rather surprising. Plus if the aim is to get some kind of order back in the NF assignment numbers, it doesn't do good to leave the 1300s scattered all over the place or to further that scattering. From the looks of things, the 1300s going up to about the lower to mid 1380s looked destined for eventual 77th assignment. The remaining higher numbered 1300s may make their way to 74th after taking into account that the cutoff for 1500s will very possibly be in the 1550s, making that the eventual higher end of NFs at 74th if the pattern of transferring in the 1400s down there holds, and the fact that 74th typically needs 160 NFs along side the assigned New Novas to maintain adequate service levels.

The problem is North Park still having the high 1300s but I see where you're coming from about the 1300s block but I don't know about the high ones being at 74th though. Well if 74th needs about 160 NFs to stay at roughly 260 buses total, their NF numbers would have to start either in the 1380s or 1390s if their NFs cut off somewhere in the 1550s. And that's likely the cutoff, otherwise you'd then have 77th hovering closer to 200 NFs instead of roughly 180. BH is already feeling that 77th's bus count is heavier than needed, though the upcoming extension of #4 to 115th may fix that. That's why I'm thinking things to line up with 74th having the last 15-20 1300s. As for the speculation of all the Allisons with the longitudinal seating being at NP, that has NP's NF numbers looking like this 1875-2029, taking into account BH's average roster counts of about 155. I'm really not seeing why they'd want to do that though as that comes out to more transferring than necessary from looking at how the majority of the Allisons are already at Chicago and a larger number of 1700s were already at NP. That makes this part of the number fixing seem a backward move.
