If anybody is entering the Red Line at 69th then please be advised that the water main line is busted causing downstairs by the platform to flood (very dangerous due to the extreme weather). #3, #4, #6, #8, #9, #J14, #15, #24, #28, #29, #49 and Green Line can be alternates for your trip. Please be mindful and safe everybody.

How does this not require the Pink Line to be rerouted counterclockwise, or the 63rd-bound Green Line via Wells and VanBuren? Because they run on the Inner Loop too.

May depend on whether the work is only at the crossover at Wabash-Van Buren as only the Orange Line makes that crossover.

Correct me if I'm wrong but only the Pink Line would be affected. The Green Line doesn't run on the Wells-Van Buren leg of the loop

It doesn't, but the alert didn't say where the work was being done, only that the Orange Line was going on the Brown Line loop direction.. If the southbound track on Wabash were affected, so would the Green Line.

That's why my guess about where the work was being done.

Also, I was starting to bet that they could be working on the right-turn Wells-to-Lake track. That would make sense as well.

They got some problems with forest pk bound blue line trains right now. They have 5 trains stacked between logan and addison. The train at logan had an electrical smell. They say that's a brake issue. The titan signs say that trains are moving after a problem with a train at jeff. I think they are still having trouble with that same train.

Four lines have weekend service changes for maintenance this weekend, and involve the Pink and Orange Lines going counter-clockwise around the Loop, 95th bound Red Line trains going "over the top", and Green Line trains only running between Harlem and Roosevelt and 35-Bronzeville-IIT and the 63rd Terminals.

An overview for the work can be found here.

Info for the Red Line work and reroute can be found here.

Info for the Pink Line and Orange Line work and reroute can be found here.

Info for the Green Line work and service alteration can be found here.

What seems crazy is that they are providing shuttle bus service between Roosevelt and 35/IIT-Bronzeville when those customers could easily just transfer to the rerouted Red Line and ride to 35th. You could do a much shorter bus shuttle between the 35th Red and GReen Line stations with less buses.

But that's what they have been consistently providing. Maybe the theory is that someone from 63rd wants to get to somewhere further north or then west on the Green Line.

That still doesn't change the point of the transfer at 35th to a shuttle service. Though the Roosevelt to 35th/IIT= Bronzeville has been consistent over weekends, a rare opportunity to lessen the shuttles and be more cost effective exists this weekend because the Red Line trains are being rerouted over the Loop elevated southbound. However, I suppose NB travelers would have a hike walking from the subway station up to the elevated platform at Roosevelt even with escalators in place/

Maybe someone figured no sense confusing the passengers worse than they already were.
