Just saw tow truck #246 tow #8187 and #8214 into SS. 74th has about 40 buses oos and 2/3 of them are 8000s. What is going on over there? 😅

#8187 has been dead since june, #8214 has sat dead at 74th for a month after a breakdown on 75. it appears as if flyers are easier to fix in most cases than novas, but not always as for example #1575 and #1573 have been OOS for about the same time period as those novas

Saw that too lol. I’ve heard a few drivers complaining about no AC downtown and all of them had a 7900, it’s just hilarious.

Less garage time due to FBN? 🤔

I wouldn't say yes or no to that speculation, a lot of stuff has been going on internally over at 74th in regards to on time performance with maintenance and availability of buses. I don't recall 74th having that much equipment down since they had  220 #6000s to maintain at one time. The #8000s being the main culprit would scream milage swap since they haven't gone anywhere else but those 9 to 103rd. It wouldn't hurt to have 100 versus nearly 150 they almost had a year or so ago.

74th garage has loaned 2 2014 nova bus LFS to 77th garage

8063 on route 79th to Ford city right now BLOCK ID 79_723

8073 was just on the 3 king drive to 95th red line probably it went back to the garage BLOCK ID 3_702

Now I was afraid of this becoming a theme here with all of 74th's #8000's ending up in our shops this past weekend. I checked the rosters yesterday and they were still under 74th but that may change soon.

The A/C issue just confirms my being glad to have moved into 77th and 103rd territory from my prior spot in NP territory shortly before that swap between FG and NP giving NP more 7900s in exchange for 1000s from NP. I've noticed though that NP has been sticking those extra 7900s primarily on routes that it's already been using operating as mostly or all Nova and running the New Flyers in their usual spots in similar numbers as before especially the downtown routes like the rush period expresses and runs on the 146 and 147 during the typical times we see those two have less articulated buses. The main exceptions to the downtown deployments I've observed is the 36 being two thirds to three quarters Nova run since the swap and the 136 seeing a few more artic runs in the PM rush.

As for the 8000s seen at 77th, maybe that's a part of the breakup of some of 8000s that @YoungBusLover suggested could happen if those changes are permanent and not simply loans.

8187 is back it currently got loan to 77th or it's staying at 77th or going back to 74th but it on route 53A

That was already mentioned in another thread, don’t come back saying my bad, but please think twice before sending a message and do the simple research and you’ll find 8187 already sent to 77th after it was down at SS for repairs
