Are routes 806, 807, and 808 in service?  They're not reflecting on the tracker.

They are usually run with paratransits. They are still on the list of routes on pacebus.com.

Apparently, the 2600s were used on township projects or the like.

6492, which has been out of service for at least a year and a half, has now joined with 6504 at NW.

Apparently NW needed them as a result of Pulse (8 Dempster Pulse and 3 250s at the moment, compared to 8 250s 3 weeks ago at 11 a.m.) and East Dundee had the surplus, but with Des Plaines NW garage already over capacity, I wonder where Pace is storing them.

A few weeks ago I saw a Pulse bus headed north in Route 83 at Devon around 10pm.  I do know if it was deadheading to NW from Ricer or not.   I didn't get the bus number.  I also considered that it might have been a 223 that was in service using a Pulse bus.  I didn't see the destination sign but from what I can remember,  the interior lights were on,  which leads me to believe that it was probably a 223.  It was a weeknight and before October 29

2681 appears to have reappeared at Highland Park on the 472, according to bus tracker. This was the one in the West Suburban wrap.

Actually there and still wrapped. There isn't anything printed on the wrap indicating what it symbolized, but that's it. Was also running 2668.

What's kind of strange is that the tracker is putting them on routes like 230, 240, 422, and 423, and I presume some of these are school runs. Stuff like this has happened before, like 6377, 6378 at NS, but those were on Allstate express routes or the like. I guess there aren't really the routes to use them now, and, as I noted above, NW needed buses to cover Dempster.

I can confirm that it is actually being used for those routes and not just for school runs. I know one of the 63xx from river that got moved to NW now has the Soilder field express wrap,  it also has been used to help fill out most of NW routes except for the pulse routes. I pray to god I never get it running the 290 especally in rush hour

6381 has always had that wrap since at least they had it at Southwest. That bus then moved to river, now it's at NW and I was wondering if it still had that wrap.

Looks like all of Highland Parks original 2600 (2630-2639) have been withdrawn.

2635 was not used after 5/2020; 2632/3/6/8 have not been used since 5/23; 2631/4 9/23; 2637/9 10/23

2635 never made it to Highland Park. It was damaged in an accident on the Tollway during an ice storm while being delivered to HP, and after being repaired, ended up first at North Shore, and then on a feeder route. Update: 2635 is on the scrap Bid Tabulation Sheet. 2630 was also never a HP bus.

Although 2632 has not been on 471/472, I visually saw it in Ravinia service this summer. I bet about 10 of those buses are now in storage, there not being any other source of old buses.

According to maths22 bus tracker it was on the 606 yesterday. That is a joint NW/River route, have you seen it at NW?

No visual, but"

  • 6494 would have been out of E Dundee, not Elgin.
  • Looking at 606 on prior days shows only NW buses, i.e.: Dec. 21

Timage.thumb.png.ceade45a131e2e30ce98648c4b63abd3.pngThen yesterday:

You missed the 22300 which are River's usual vehicles on the 606 (yesterday at 4:50pm). East Dundee and River do swap their 40' buses as I believe East Dundee is an outstation of River. 6494 could have been at River for work and was used on 606 to check it out - it had not appeared on the bus tracker since 7/7/2023.

Apparently some.  22300s each day explain part of it, but then the question is why 6379-6391 aren't on the route. @maths22's tracker shows nothing for 6379, 6380, 6384, 6388; also shows

NW: 6381 (last 11/25)

ED: 6382 (last 12/6), 6383, 6385, 6386, 6387, 6389, 6390

Elgin: 6391 (last 12/7)

Those in the 6485-6509 range that seem to be at NW are:

6492, 6494 [now registering on 223, which should resolve that], 6504.

Yes I agree 6494 is now at NW.

Only three of 6379-6391 are at Elgin 6385, 6390 and 6391. 6385 was on the 606 on 12/22, 6390 on 12/15 (but now appears to be at ED) and 6391 on 12/7. 6379 has not been out since before Jun-22 and 6380 last out Jun-22. The rest are at East Dundee (6382-4/6-90 - although 6384 and 6388 have not been out since 7/23) with 6381 at NW last month. 6386-6388 have not been at Elgin since 2016 going via SW to ED.

With only 2 based at Elgin that is not enough to cover the 606, there has to be 22300 on the route.

6385 and 6390 are assigned to East Dundee Outstation

6391 appears to be the only one that runs on 606 now, it is active but the tracker does not work. I rode 6391 yesterday.
